The tour was excellent, made so by the remarkable guide, Benjamin Rivera. Joya de Ceren was impressive and the city tour informative. Special thanks must go to the guide who went our of his way routinely to personalize the tour. It was great sampling the local cuisine, and visiting authentic location. I will surely request this guide again the next time I am in Central America! Bravo!!
Where can I start? This was one of the best tours we have ever taken. We spend only one night in the city but 2 full days of tours. We booked this tour company through CityDiscovery and it was the best service we had ever experienced from a tour company.
Mayra, the main contact I had over e-mail, was so helpful and gave me all the information I requested. Because of all the negative comments I was hearing about the city which are NOT TRUE I was a little nervous so I asked her for the full name and picture of who was going to pick us up from the airport...she sent me that info immediately. When we arrived, she called us to make sure everything had gone well...and we even got 2 little souvenirs from them as a gift! :-
Our guide was Benjamin...he picked us up from the airport and was with us both days until he dropped us off back at the airport. He was AMAZING...so warm, so genuine...so caring...it was like going on a tour with a really good friend as a guide! He was also really knowledgeable....My husband and I usually are not into the overload of information that you can get during tours but Benjamin made it really dynamic and entertaining...we learned so much about the history of the country...about every site we visited...
Since we were going to be with him both das he asked us what we were most interested in and adapted the tours we had booked to that. We went to El Boquerón the volcano, then we had pupusas in this other area of the city...the next day we went to see a pyramid I am bad with names and drove through different places, we saw a beautiful lake...then the downtown....2 days were definitively not enough. We are planning to go back and without a doubt we will be contacting Salvadorean Tours again and requesting Benjamin.
Thank you Benjamin and Mayra for a truly unforgettable experience!!!
