Erg mooie tour met kleine bus. Veel stops met mooie uitzichten en een aantal stops waar je naar een ander punt moet lopen om weer opgepikt te worden, fijn dat niet alles per bus gaat en je ook wat van het mooie landschap kan lopen.
Great trip but some complications that made it very stressful at the start.
- We were lucky enough to have the nicest day sun and some blue sky for our tour in July. With the sun we were able to see a gorgeous rainbow over the Gulfoss Waterfall.
-Audio tour and actual tour guide were very informative and we had just the right balance of time to spend at the places and time spent telling us about them
- Small group on the bus was nice and cozy, more personal
- Wish we were told to bring lunch and snacks - We did luckily but would have had some trouble if we hadn't. There was one stop where our guide said we could buy lunch but it was expensive and if we wanted to get lunch there we would have been pressed for time between seeing the attraction, getting, and eating lunch all in 1 hour.
- As someone else mentioned in another review, the pick up process stressed my husband and I out greatly. I thought this was because it was through Viator and Island Highlights even though our tour guide said the tour was from the tour company - Go To Joy Iceland. If you go to their website gotojoyiceland.is the same tour is more expensive BUT maybe they would have been easier with contact info. The contact info I had was for Island Highlights Travel and they had a phone number that didn't work and email that worked luckily but they were not the quickest getting back to us.The email was through Viator and every time they emailed back they gave very simplistic answers that led us to more questions.
Essentially know this: YOU MUST ASK WHERE THE PICK-UP STOPS ARE, DECIDE WHICH ONE IS CLOSEST FOR YOU TO GET TO, TELL THEM WHICH ONE YOU WILL BE AT, AND ASK WHAT TIME TO BE THERE. It took probably 6 or so emails back and forth to get the needed info and even so we were very nervous we would be left behind. It was not good to be grasping at straws for information! Next time I'd do it through the tour's own company or somewhere else. I think Viator was in the wrong for not giving all the info upfront. I couldn't even book the trip online because they ask what hotel you are staying at and we stayed at an Air B and B so I couldn't click anything. Then I had to write them my address where we stayed, ask where to go, what time, etc. It was a lengthy and stressful process.
Incredible tour, cannot recommend enough, the tour guide offered a lot of information in-between locations and allowed us plenty of time to visit each stop, we couldn't get to the bottom of the waterfall due to bad weather, this was in mid December but still got a beautiful view looking down over it.
Stunning scenery, very informative, the whole family enjoyed it even though we had a flat tyre to start with arrangements were made and the tour still went ahead which we were grateful for as we wouldn't have been able to reschedule during our stay Many Thanks a trip we will always remember.
It was a great tour, with many special points nicely packed in one day. Our guide, Carlos, provided us with lot of information about the local sights and the whole island and with lot of jokes. I would recommend the trip to everyone.
Amazing day out on the Golden Circle Tour led by Carlos, aka Charlie, aka Steve. Picked up on time at bus stop 1 in a cosy mini-bus, much better than being crammed on an 80 seater tour. Carlos was very knowledgeable and provide relevant facts, jokes and commentary throughout the trip. We saw all the best sites and being a small tour our time spent at each place was flexible which was perfect, because at a couple stops the icy winds made it impossible to stay outside longer than 15mins which meant we could move on to the next site once out bodies couldnt take the cold any longer. All in all a great day out! Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Iceland.
This was a really nice tour, with great places to see and take pictures of. Our guide and driver was really knowledgeable, meaning we could learn quite a bit about each place and some fun facts about the country. If you're on a budget I recommend bringing sandwiches or other kinds of packed food for the lunch break the prices were not extreme but still quite high, like in most of Iceland. Come prepared with proper winter shoes and wind-stopper jackets during the winter season.
Highly recommended tour! Despite the bad weather, with some roads being closed, our tour driver, Carlos, did everything possible to deliver us with amazing and enjoyable experience! Great tour! Highly recommended!
