What an exquisite day! With an early start from Venice Tronchetto, a small group of us 6 made our way to the gentle hills of the Veneto. Marco our driver/guide was much obliging, friendly and informative. The pace was laid back and allowed lots of time to simply stroll though the charming villages of Marostica, discover Bassano de Grappa with its incredible Poli Grappa Museum and its Grappa tasting and Asolo for an al fresco lunch in the Piazza optional. From there, Marco drove us to the Palladian Villa Barbaro which was quite interesting to visit. Then off to the Prosecco hills where a thunderstorm caught us and gave us spectacular play of lights over the Prosecco vineyards. We stopped at CaSalina and had quite a comprehensive degustation of all levels of Prosecco. What a better way to end this day. Returned to Venice around 7pm with lots of great memories! Thoroughly enjoyed this well organized excursion
This tour was the BEST one ever! Marco was our guide and made the tour so much fun! He interacted with us and just kept us informed and laughing the whole day. The towns we visited were amazing! Definitely one not to miss! Beautiful smaller towns with amazing views!
What a fantastic value and experience! The meeting point was easy to find. The group only consisted of 6 people. Marco was a fine driver and very informative guide throughout the day. The itinerary was varied and amazing. The stops were not rushed. We able to enjoy each at our pace within the time limit. Marco was quite engaging and attended to our needs as individuals. Marco knew exactly where to go to get the best views. We felt this was a great way to see parts of the mainland while staying in Venice.
Bassano del Grappa was really beautiful. With only 5 people the guide was able to give us a lot of personal attention. Asolo and other towns were nice. The Palladio villa was a nice break between the two wine tasting events.
This was one of the nicest guided tours I have ever taken. Giovanni, the driver and guide, was knowledgeable and funny, and allowed us just the right amount of time in each spot. The group was small and congenial, and the stops were diverse and beautiful. Five stars!
The only good thing about that specific tour is that it's really small group: total of 6 people including our guide I believe they take a maximum of 8. Other tours say 'small group' and you end up with a bunch of people 40...that may be why it is quite expensive, however still too expensive for what you get and the only really interesting part in our view was the visit of Bassano del Grappa. We did not enjoy that much the rest of the tour which we found quite boring.
Just the right number of stops to make for a perfect day: the charming little town of Asolo, grappa tasting in Bassano del Grappa, and prosecco at a lovely winery. Our guide, Marco, was friendly, entertaining, and informative.
This is spectacular trip with a very informative guide, Marco. The countryside was beautiful and it gave us a different side of Italy. The pastry and restaurant recommendations were helpful and accurate. The stops were well timed. Overall a very pleasant day.
