Fantastic! This was definitely the best tour we had in Peru. Valentin was very professional, knowledgeable everything was great from pick up to tour of the ruins and farm. The food prepared for us was one of the best meals we had, My friend and I would use them again in a heart beat.
The one day tour of Ollantaytambo and Pisaq proved to be more than we expected, thanks to our guide, Valentin of Valentin Pachamama Journeys. He was punctual and spoke fluent English. Combining his university education, his local knowledge having been born in the community, enabled him to give us a full prospective of what we saw with the history of the Inca, Egyptian and European civilizations. Not only did we visit these sites, which are beyond your imagination no matter how much you see the google images, we were treated to the local market in Uramabo. Valentin introduced and treated us to the local products. Yes, we had been to the San Pedro market in Cusco, but due to his familiarity with the local people, resulted in a much more personal treat. With deserved pride, we visited Valentins family farm. Anyone who has tended a vegetable garden will appreciate the work Peruvian familys endure to provide for their families. Not only treating us to a picnic lunch that would be welcomed in any gourmet restaurant, he treated us to family stories, taking special pride in how his mother sent 7 children to school. His mother inherited two bulls from her father. Not having the cash to buy the necessities for the childrens school, she traded one bull for cash and the other for two young bulls, using the cash to buy the things for her children. By the next year when it came time to buy school items again, she repeated the process until all 7 children finished school. Needless to say, we wouldnt hesitate to recommend taking this tour.
