This was a good trip like a good movie you can watch it over and over but still feel the effects of what really happened back in the day so sad but yet so true but the saddest part is it still exists today Let’s ban together one by one one person to show love we can not allow this man #45 to continue to divide pray an ask for change
I didn't get to do the tour due to the time. I would suggest that this group be more flexible in their touring hours. The lady I spoke with on the phone was very gracious. She tried to make every accommodation for me, but we weren't able to make it happen. She offered to redeem my voucher on a later visit.
Bar none, Queen was the best tour guide I've ever encountered. The tour is comprehensive, so well-researched, and you'll never encounter a friendlier and more enthusiastic person. We had the best time and both learned a tremendous amount about the Black history of Memphis. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.
In planning our trip to Memphis, I searched for Places to see in Memphis and this was one of the many choices that we had to choose from. I have to say that we were very pleased that we chose the African American History Tour. Ms Queen, who was our tour guide from A Tour of Possibilities was very knowledgeable and an exceptional tour guide. We must say that this is a tour that every one should see. CC and Annette M
Queen is a star and welcomes you to the tour with a hug!
The tour content is very informative and humbling, covering not just distant history slavery but recent history also. We stopped at the COGIC church and were able to go inside, this is the church where Martin Luther King made his final speech on April 3rd 1968, and were able to stand in the pulpit that he stood in to make said speech.
Queen has another tour which includes the Slave Haven, I believe. She is such a good tour guide that a whole day tour including entry to COGIC, Slave Haven and Lorraine Hotel would be amazing - if she has that available I'd advise to take that - otherwise this tour is still a definite must.
