We did the full day self guided winery bike tour. Unfortunately, we did this on Good Friday and no wineries were open that day. We ended up biking to a tavern along the path to have lunch. Around the Basin which runs the tour did provide this information to Viator and we were advised and could have received a full refund but decided to go ahead anyway as it was our only day in Queenstown. Having said this, the bike path to the wineries was amazing with beautiful scenery and a chance to check out the Bungy jumping area part way. The path is fairly well marked, except for the turnoff to the tavern which caused us a bit of difficulty. Hamish from Around the Basin who took us to Arrowtown, fitted us with our bikes and picked us up at the tavern, was great. All in all, it's a bike tour that is well worth it although I doubt anyone can get to all 8 wineries along the way if they stop at each one!
Tour was so fun. A little drinking, a little exercise, sight seeing, it has it all! Well marked bike path through beautiful scenery. Toilets along the way. One suggestion would be to put in further down so there's more wine tasting and less biking. Driver was great.
Around the Basin was great to deal with. They described the route perfectly to keep on the right path. The route is lovely and away from car traffic except for a few crossings. The full day is quite a long ride for those not accustom to biking there are some steep inclines and hairpin turns. Around the Basin was very accommodating with pick-up location, thanks John!
