Loved not having to wait in line!!! The tour was so interesting and the castle is really beautiful!

We traveled about 3 hours from Zurich to Fuessen just for the castle. Amazing trip, totally worth it. Driver from Fuessen to the castle was super friendly and informative. The castle was fantastic and beautiful surroundings. It was good to do it in a tour because the bus drops you off right in the town and you dont have to queue in the long lines for tickets etc. Be prepare to walk/hike up from the town to the castle. We did it in about 20 minutes. There are buses and horse rides if you want to pay more and handle long lines. If you have time walk to the bridge to take the best pictures.

Perfect, exactly what we needed to get into the castle the minute. The tour organizers were punctual and very accommodating to us taking our own car there.

The castle is amazing. We had a little hiccup to start the tour, but the operators dealt with the issue and we were able to get back on track.

I have no real complaints about this tour however please read this carefully.

Due to an exceptionally busy time at work by the time I tried to book advance Neuschwanstein Castle tickets on the official site four days prior to our arrival they were all gone. Owing to a tight holiday schedule I decided it was too much of a risk to turn up at the ticket centre on the day to be told there was no tickets or the next available tour was 4/5 hours away. For this reason I booked this tour to guarantee entry for me, my wife and 4 year old daughter.

On the day we arrived at the LA hostel in our hire car where we met the driver/ guide. He told us it would be best for us to take our own car so that we didn't need to wait until 1 o'clock to leave we were the only people on the tour that day which suited us as we were time pressed to travel to Garmisch. We followed him on the 10 minute drive to the ticket centre where he got our tickets and gave us the 6 euros it cost for the parking at the castle. As per the info on the booking page he was not the castle guide and left us to it.

In a nutshell this tour served us the purpose of guaranteeing entry to the castle, however we paid 76 for the privilege. If tickets had been available on the official site the cost of tickets, booking fee and parking would have been around 30.

Although I can't say for sure because we went in our car I presume that if we'd gone on the bus we'd have gone the same route and like other people reviewing have said it would really just have been a super expensive 10 minute each way taxi ride.

I'd suggest you consider booking early from the official ticket office although as above if the tickets are sold out this tour will facilitate guaranteed access at a late stage.

Beautiful place, a must see. Getting a ride and having tickets waiting was a big advantage. Time is pretty tight, didn't get much beyond the 2 castles. Also driver essentially just drops you off and leaves.

This tour is 3X the price of buying your own tiks to the castle tour. All you get extra is a rushed, packed mini van transport. Advice: buy tickets through castle website, catch Fussen shuttle bus and vwala you havent been ripped off like we were!!!
