I was the only tourist on this tour...
Alex J
, oct 2014
I was the only tourist on this tour and unfortunately Santiago was covered in smog so the views were virtually non existent. The meal was a Ok but again, as the only tourist/punter, it was not a great experience. The taxi from the restaurant as efficient and cheap on my return to my hotel. The factor of being on my own, may have tainted my review.

We enjoyed this tour and our tour...
Megan E P
, oct 2014
We enjoyed this tour and our tour guide Jorge spoke very good english and his historical knowledge of Santiago was awesome. We only had one glitch and that was our driver got a bit lost after the tour on the way to the restaurant. We finally found the restaurant which was El Apero and they made such a fuss of us when we got there and it fantastic. We enjoyed great Chilean food and a show as well and we all got up and danced on stage. It was the last night of our 3 weeks in South America and a great way to finish the holiday. Their Pisco sours were very good too.

The guide was friendly, she knew...
Kari S
, jul 2014
The guide was friendly, she knew much and spoke good english. She was interested in us and had many questions. That was not bad but when she wanted to translate everything to the driver (her hushband) there was to much spanish taking which we did not understand. They could have done the family taking later. When we arrived to the restautant they did not know that the dinner was pre-paid but that settled out after one phone call. Please note that the transportation from the restaurant to the hotel is not included.

Nice tour but no fotostop

King Penguin & Tierra del Fuego Tour | mar 2020
The tour was well organized but we had no fotostop to take pictures of the landscape or the guanacos. That was really disappointing. We also would recommend a microphone for the guide as we could hardly understand her in the backrow. But the guide and the driver were very friendly.

Arrival Transfer - Santiago International Airport to Hotel in Santiago | mar 2020
Engagement was easy via on-line arrangements. Once at the airport it was easy to find the driver and head off to destination. Unfortunately we hit commuter traffic that morning but no fault of driver or service. All excellent. I would make one suggestion regarding the explanation about the meeting point at SCL. It would be easier to instruct your passengers to "follow the green line on floor after baggage exiting customs. At least for directing to the Exit 4 area. Never saw the restaurant mentioned in the directions.

Magdalena Island Penguin Tour by Boat from Punta Arenas | mar 2020
Interesting trip. saw lots of penguins close-up on the short island walk. Watched sea lions on shore from the boat for about 15 minutes, also interesting. Our seating area was somewhat cramped but tolerable. We heard some people on the trip paid about $40.00 less per person than we did. Not sure how we could have gotten that price. Overall, worth doing.

Atacama Salt Flat Day Trip from San Pedro de Atacama including Los Flamencos National Reserve and Socaire Village | mar 2020
Before you take this tour, ask yourself a question. In an ideal world, what would you do with 8 hours of your hard earned vacation time? What type of day do you want in Atacama? If you’re looking for 80% of your day to be in a bus that doesn’t have effective air conditioning, a dysfunctional speaker for the tour guide, and literally breaks down on the tour...look no further. I actually couldn’t think of a more fitting tour for you. You’ll love it. But you might be wondering. What about the sights? And the information from the tour guide? I’ll answer my question with another question. Do you enjoy not discernibly knowing where you are or why what you’re looking at is important? I found myself over the course of the tour realizing I’d effectively learned nothing as well as can’t recall anywhere I went because it had been poorly communicated and/or changed the day before (The flamingo area was closed due to flooding). While the sites were beautiful, we would basically drive for an hour, hop out and take a picture, and hop back in. Would’ve been so much better if we could have had some time to explore and then meet back at the bus. I want to wrap up with the food. After 8 hours, we stopped by a restaurant—that we had stopped by earlier to place our order—we had perhaps one of the most underwhelming meals that side of the Tropic de Capricorn. I couldn’t tell what I was eating except for the green apple jello as dessert.

Worth the day out

Atacama Salt Flat Day Trip from San Pedro de Atacama including Los Flamencos National Reserve and Socaire Village | mar 2020
Great scenes. Saw llamas, vicunas, jagoons, bird life, flamingos. Don't be surprised if you cant get to close to the lagoons, they are very protected from tourists. Our driver and guide were very good. Only negative is the road conditions which they have no control over, so expect a very bumpy ride. Bring water. Lunch was at a little family stop in Socaire and was good. Nice trip.

Instead of serving whisky they should have provided more snacks as they were minimal. Trip was good. Saw glacier, birds, sea lions.

Beautiful scenery, poor lunch

Atacama Salt Flat Day Trip from San Pedro de Atacama including Los Flamencos National Reserve and Socaire Village | mar 2020
Beautiful lagoons, fantastic views and scenery. Good, knowledgeable guide Ignazio who spoke excellent English. The only disappointing thing was lunch - soup that had no flavour, cold pasta and a stuffed marrow type vegetable which again lacked flavour and appeal and green jelly. The restaurant had no atmosphere what so ever, the tour group were their only customers and there was no menu or choice.

Full-Day Hiking Tour to the Base of Paine Towers at Torres del Paine National Park | mar 2020
We understood that the maximum group size was 6 hikers/group. I believe our group was 14 with a fairly wide range of hiking capability. That meant that the group as a whole was delayed considerably by the slow walkers. Seating in the bus was very cramped, especially over the rear wheelwell. The hike was more demanding than advertised. With significant undulations in altitude the net elevation gain belies the cumulative elevation gain. The hiking distance was advertised to be 19 km, not the 23 we walked probably because the ground transportation doesn't get hikers to the trailhead. The drop-off point probably falls a couple kilometers short of the trailhead. The lunch, for an additional fee, was barely palatable. It would have been useful to know on the ascent that water at the midway rest stop was potable. We weren't advised of that until we returned on our descent. The blue towers are spectacular and well worth the hike. But this guided group fell well short of expectation.

Magdalena Island Penguin Tour by Boat from Punta Arenas | mar 2020
Tour itself was great. Our guide Sebastian and driver Placido were knowledgeable and helpful. Tourboat crew were also excellent. We saw sea lions, cormorants at Isla Marta and lots of Magellanic penguins on Isla Magdalena. Our problems were prior to beginning the tour. We were on a cruise ship that arrived in port at 6:15 am. No taxis, Ubers or other vehicles were available to get us from the ship to the tour office and starting point (8 kms) away. We managed to flag down a nice person who drove us in. We tried to phone all the telephone numbers that were provided by both Viator and the local company but there was no answer at either number. This is very poor customer service and problematic. We could have easily missed the entire tour. Proper contact information should be provided and possibly more information if customers are arriving on a cruise ship.
