Visited Mount Seorak and Nami Island on the 14 Jan. This is a great tour as Mount Seorak and the surrounding park are beautiful. As the weather is good, we managed to take the cable car ride up and explored the magnificent view it offers. After lunch we proceed to Nami Island, the famous Korean drama - Winter Sonata shooting place. This island is beautiful at every spot. Love the rolls of tall, completely vertical trees. Highly recommend this tour package as we can go to both beautiful places. Our Guide Mr. Jerry is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, his explanations are easy to understand.
It was good. My tourguide Joy did a wonderful job. Our family enjoyed our time at Mount Seorak and Nami. But next time we will take whole day for 1 place only... Both places need a whole day to enjoy. Anyway, thanks Joy.
This is a great tour as Mount Seorak and the surrounding park are incredibly beautiful. Being able to hike different paths or take the cable car up allows for different levels of activity and fitness options making it good for everyone. There are lots of restaurants for eating and a Buddha statue. The inclusion of Nami Island is nice as well. Some may want more time as there is a lot to do in terms of what to see and activities bungee jumping, zip lining, water sports. It is a beautiful small island that is easy to walk.
We really enjoyed this tour. Unfortunately we didn't have as much time at each place as expected due to heavy travel traffic. The company did a good job of starting us early in expectation of the traffic but it was still more than thought so we were very delayed getting to the mountain. Our guide, James, did the best he could to give us adequate time at each location despite the late arrival. He was knowledgeable and friendly and our tour was still really nice.
Our tour guide, Tony, was punctual and the van was spacious and comfortable for the 4 of us. When we arrived in Mount Seorak, Tony explained to us the walk we should take. The view from Mount Seorak was great. We took the cable car up to the top. After that, we went to Nami Island. Nami Island was very scenic and great photo taking opportunities. Tony was very accommodating to our requests. We can communicate well with Tony in English. Overall, we had a pleasant trip even though it was a long ride to our destination.
Highly recommend this trip for those going Seoul. As there's only two of us in this trip, our tour guide, Jerry, personally drove us. Jerry is very nice and has good knowledge of both Mt Seorak and Nami Island. Timing allocated well between both places. Had a wonderful time and loved these two beautiful places.
We were met at the meeting point and boarded a large tour bus, which was pretty much totally full, that drove us up to the Soraksan National Park. There was some commentary during the ride.
We had one stop during the ride and then went on to the park, and the guides, Jerry and Sera, accompanied the group through the park and provided a lot of commentary during this part of the tour. They were also very open to answering questions.
Once at the park, they explained the 3-4 possible hiking trails that were possible during the time, and also about the cable car ride.
The cable car ride is optional, and they said that we were very lucky we WERE :! to be able to take the ride that day, as it is often not open due to weather conditions, so we definitely wanted to do the ride and we were really happy that we did. The views from the ride, both during the ride itself, and once you get to the stop, were really amazing. Remember this was in late December... we can just imagine what it would be like in the fall :!
Anyway, we had some time at the car stop maybe an hour or hour and a half and then took the cable car back down and walked back to our bus.
After everybody got back on the bus Jerry and Sera were really meticulous checking for everyone the bus drove to Nami Island. The island is in the middle of a lake, and so we took a ferry to the island FYI, there is a zipline from the mainland side to the island, and it was actually running that day, but unfortunately, we could not ride it because it was fully booked.
I guess the island is mainly known because a lot of the sites on the island were used for a famous K-drama named Winter Sonata. My wife and I are K-drama fans, but at least for me and I think her this part of the tour was not so interesting.
Anyway, after gathering the group onto the bus, they drove us back to Seoul and in our case, dropped us off that the DHCP subway station.
Also, Jerry took some group pics during the tour and, as promised, he sent them to presumably all of us after the tour.
- Best part for us was the Soraksan part and the cable car ride
- Good commentary/guidance from Jerry and Sera, both of whom were very caring of the group IMO.
- Seemed pretty well coordinated, but it seemed that we spent extra time waiting for stragglers getting back to the bus, but not much to do about that I guess
- For us, not so interested in the Nami Island part of the tour
- Could not get on zipline at Nami Island
- No WIFI on the bus
- At least in winter and probably fall it can get cold on Soraksan so dress accordingly
- Wish there was just a Soraksan-only option - that would make the tour not last like 12 hours :...
- We knew that Nami Island was part of the tour up-front so not downgrading review for that part
This tour visits two of the most picturesque/wow spots in South Korea. The tour begins with an approx. 1.5 to 2 hr ride to Mount Seorak where we took a cable car up and explored the magnificent view it offers! The cable car was quick and fun however I would've preferred to do more hiking/ exploration but considering our time limit it was really hard to do so. We then ate delicious lunch at a nearby restaurant and then proceeded to Nami Island where the shoot a famous korean drama called Winter Sonata and for good reason! This island was made to look beautiful at every spot even in November which was the time we went. The rows of tall, completely vertical trees were very memorable as well. I just wish our tour had more engagement and interaction with our friendly tour guide, during the tour if they could walk with us and explain the history behind these magnificent places it would make it that much more memorable!
