Great day trip from Tokyo. Easy to get to on the train system and having a private tour guide was the best. Would highly recommend Yuki as a tour guide. Former English teacher, so excellent command of the language. Very knowledgable about the sights and history.

Amazing experience!

We had a great tour guide who told us many great things about Kamakura. But..... I feel the company needs to do a better job telling you what you will pay for. NOT INCLUDED was ALL entrance fees, lunch to be expected, your travel to and from and YOU have to pay for the guide's travel to and from. The last was a little annoying as I felt that the company should have paid the tour guide's way. The only other strange thing on our tour was that there was no stop for lunch. So we went 9am-4pm with just a few breaks to sit down. In the scorching heat!

Our tour to Kamakura wasn't what we expected. we were met at our hotel by our own personal guide Steve who was a very good guide, but what we didn't expect as it doesn't state in the description of the tour until your print out your voucher that you have to pay for all transport as you go along and pay for the guide. We paid over 200 pounds for the guide alone but this did not include the transport costs, which once we left our hotel, was a metro to the train station, then change trains to Kamakura. Steve then escorted us to the various temples/Buddha's but we found that the pace of the tour was very quick and I struggled to keep up. We then had to pay for all transport back to our hotel we we didn't get returns. if this would of been highlighted in the description of the tour, we would not of booked it. to sum up this trip it was very expensive trip.

Our tour guide Toru Kobata was exceptionally good. He met us at our hotel on Tokyo and we walked together to our local Metro station to start our day's adventure. We travelled by train to Kamakura and then we walked along a lovely walkway to visit the Tsurugaoia Hachimangu Shrine Complex and then the Hokoku-ji Temple Shrine, which had a beautiful bamboo garden and a Zen garden set in the lovely Japanese gardens.
We had lunch with Toru in The Garden House, an outdoor restaurant where we had Japanese style Pizza which was delicious and we sat at a table under the trees, chatting to Toru about Japan and the local area. We then caught a train to Hase Station to Kotokuin Temple to see the Great Buddha, the second biggest Buddha in Japan. From there we walked to the Hasadera Temple, which is built on the slope of a wooded hill. We then went for a walk down to the beach at Sagami Bay before walking back to the station to catch a series of trains back to our hotel in Tokyo.
Toru's English was exceptionally good and he was able to give us a history of the places we visited as well as explaining about their customs and traditions in a manner that was easy to understand and very interesting. His knowledge of the area allowed him to get us to places avoiding crowds by taking back streets and making the whole experience friendly, comfortable and really enjoyable.
We can highly recommend Toru as a private guide and the Kamakura area as a place to put on your must-see list when visiting Tokyo.

We had a fantastic day and saw so many different sights. Our guide was great and we learned so much more having him with us. We really enjoyed the walk around the town and lunch. We even got to the beach and saw the surfers in the water.
I would highly recommend this tour and it is a comfortable day tour from Tokyo.

Excellent tour with a in-on-one tour guide. Steve did a great job of explaining the sites and Japanese culture in general.
