  • Prueba quesos, embutidos, vinos y pastas típicos vieneses.

A food tour is such a good way of finding out about the culture and history of a city. Really enjoyed this tour. The guide was interesting and knowledgeable and I love the fact that you get to visit places you just wouldn't find otherwise.

First, logistics. When we signed up, we were told to wait IN FRONT of Cafe Sperl at 10am. We were in front of the cafe at 9:55am, waited for 15 minutes in the zero degree weather. No one showed up. We called the number, got voice mail. Then we went inside the cafe. Apparently they were inside since 9:50am. The instruction is clearly IN FRONT OF the cafe, NOT in the cafe. So organization needs some improvement. -1 star. Tour: Due to the number of people, the group is split between two guides. Our guide is very nice, and knowledgeable. The tour featured the following stops: 1. Cafe Sperl: a cup of coffee and some pastry, 2. Naschmarkt. tried different kinds of oil, vinegar, and cheese. The goat cheese was strong but tasty. 3. Leberkas Pepi: different meats including horse meats, they all kind of tasted like spam with different ingredients in it 4. candy store: tried free samples 5. Xocolat store: sampled various types of chocolates. The chocolates are good. 6. bakery: sampled 3 different kind of bread 7. butcher shop: sampled cured cow tongue, Viennese sausage, and ham There was supposed to wine tasting, but because the family we're with had religious constraint, wine tasting was skipped. Again, logistic issue. We had no religious constraint and we paid full price, but didn't get wine. To be fair, we did get more chocolate. I am a little surprised that Schnitzel and chocolate torte did not make the list considering they are the more famous food items from the region. The tour was nice if you have never experienced Austria/German food. But for us who have been to Germany multiple times and have a native German speaking person in the family, it was a bit of a let down, especially the price is 100 per person.

This was a fun tour with a great guide. We went to many different stops and got the history of the area as well. Plenty of food to try.

Even tho Lucas wasn't feeling well, he showed us numerous places and offered lots of different foods - including horse. We stopped at places we would have never found, or would have just passed by on our walks. I could have spent a whole day at the market, but he urged us forward to experience other delicacies - including horse. In fact, we had tkts for the Schnapps tour that we decided to skip in order to stay with Lucas. would highly recommend Lucas and this tour.

This tour is well worth it. What an introduction to local foods! Our guide Lucas took us to a market, bakery, coffee house, candy store, chocolate shop among other places to sample foods and wines. The scenery is beautiful, the food plentiful and the 4 hours fly by.

What a wonderful tour! Lucas was really friendly, enthusiastic and a real foodie. We were lucky to have him to ourselves, which made it even more personal. The highlight had to be the exclusive wine tasting thank you!

Lucas was a FANTASTIC tour guide. He is a Viennese local/native and is also a chef. He went out of his way to make sure we had a great tour. I would absolutely recommend him. I've done a food tour before in Paris, so I had an idea of what to expect. My 80-year-old dad, however, was very skeptical about the whole idea of the tour. He said: Why do I need to go on a food tour? Are we just going to go from restaurant to restaurant? What's so great about that? He ended up LOVING IT! In fact when I asked him at the end of our 3-week European vacation what his favorite parts were, he said this tour was one of the highlights of the entire trip! I read some of the other reviews of this tour and a few were

We very much enjoyed our Vienna food tour. Lucas took us to a variety of shops and cafes and we were able to sample many really tasty treats! Lucas was great explaining the history of the bakery, butcher shop, coffee house, Naschmakt, and much more. We appreciated that Lucas obviously loves sharing information about Viennese food and was happy to recommend some restaurants and sights to see.

The food and wine was ok but the tour was uninspiring. Unlike other food tours I have been on there was no attempt to give any background history about the food. There were only 6 of us on the tour and fortunately the other people were all very interesting.
