The basics

Pipa first became popular with surfers in the 1980s, and it has since become one of Brazil’s most popular beach towns. Many Travelers visit Pipa on a day trip from Natal or João Pessoa. Depending on the itinerary, a trip will typically include free time in Pipa to enjoy the beach or shop at the local markets, lunch at a local restaurant overlooking the sea, and stops at other scenic points of interest, like Cacimbinhas Beach, Tibau do Sol, or Guaraíras Lagoon. Adventure travelers can also experience the sights of Pipa Beach and the southern coast of Natal on a guided buggy tour.

Party the Night Away

While Pipa tends to be laidback and sleepy by day, it’s one of Northeaster Brazil’s top nightlife destinations after dark. Stroll the streets at night, and you’re likely to hear live music as you hop from one bar to the next along Av Baía dos Golfinhos. Sip tropical cocktails at a bar perched above the water, or dance the night away at one of Pipa’s many clubs.
