Wonderful tour, incredible guide!!!
Estevan_C, ago. 2022
This was a tour that we will remember forever. Eduardo was an absolutely incredible guide who shared stories about the spirituality of the Inca culture and land. He was a really nice guy and truly was a great person to get to know. He made us feel special and helped us celebrate a birthday during the four days. The activities themselves were fun and exhilarating. Everything was worthwhile. Also, all the stays were comfortable and all the food was authentic, local and SO delicious. I highly recommend this tour.

Perfectly Balanced Machu Picchu Trek

This tour was fantastic from start to finish. It was in no small part due to our guides David and Roger along with the other people we we met along the way like Tony in Santa Maria (our awesome rafting guide/in-town bar owner). The tour is very well set up with a prefect balance between adventure and hiking. To be honest I thought the tour was supposed to be more hiking and camping than it turned out to be but by the end, myself and our group were glad it wasn't. We did so much more. You still hike enough to make you collapse into your bed every night but we saw a lot of Peru, it's people, it's culture, and food (ate I mean) which we would have otherwise missed I think with a 4-day hike. Looking back, I think the adventure to Machu Picchu with our guides was the best part of the trip. What's funny is the guides mentioned that alwhen explaining how the tour was planned. David did a great job of loosening everybody up, explaining anything and everything to us, and making sure we were happy and taken care of from when we woke until we went to bed. We hiked through forests with our guides pulling fruits and vegetables off trees to share and teaching us about different herbs/spices along the way. They showed us plants used for cosmetics. They arranged any travel, lodging or meals. They helped take pictures. They helped set up a small celebration for a group member's birthday. They did everything! Things to know: some breakfasts (for me) were a bit light but I always had some trail mix or something on hand so no big deal. Be prepared that Machu Picchu may be cloudy when you go during your assigned time slot (we had a lot of fog with temporary clearing). Bring a lot of water because when you do hike, it's for a few hors and terrain can be rough with constant increases to elevation. Some people prepped for altitude sickness. I didn't and had zero issues. We stayed in hostels every night and always had transportation so that you never needed to carry all of your luggage for the day. Just what was needed. So we mostly had 4-day packs and took out what was needed for the day. Besides that, hotels in Cusco and Aguas Calientes hold any luggage not needed on the trip or until you depart the cities. In each place our group had a 3x room that the girls always used, a 2x room that the guys used, and a single room I always got since they were mostly all friends. On the train back(Peru Rail for me), a face shield was mandatory (2 sol with people selling by the station), if it's cloudy it's because you need to peel the protective layers off (a French group showed me), and on my Vistadome train, head to the front for a traditional music and dancing show and an outside car balcony for pictures. Dining car was not available (covid) and during certain months, you will need to take a charter bus several hours from the last train station to Lima (opposite if going TO Machu Picchu) Again, great tour, great guides, great price, unforgettable experience.

Had a great time, met some great people and recommend the tour. Guillermo, our guide was very knowledgeable both on fauna and flora and Inca history. He also worked indefatiguably in the background to ensure meals, timings, connections etc were as seamless as possible. On the upside, the trip included ziplining and white water rafting and springs which weren't actually in the aviator description. On the downside, the accommodation was unnecessarily poor on balance. I would have happily paid a little more for a little less penny pinching. Considering the overall cost however, can't see how they deliver all that for the price... 👍
