Exceeded Expectations
, nov 2019
We felt the tour really exceeded our expectations as we were the only 2 people on it. We got to see 2 wineries (Brezza and Marrrone). The whole day was beautiful and the stops were planned so well. It was great to learn about the region and taste some incredible wine (and food)! Our guide, Boris (Borris?), was a great driver and blast to talk with. We would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Milan.
The world is still spinning from all the wine offered at the tastings!

What an incredible experience! Being complete wine lovers, my husband and I just had to incorporate a day at the vineyards of northern Italy while in Milan. This was our first trip of many during our week stay in Milan, and man oh man, did it set up the mood for the rest of the week! My husband has done your typical Napa Valley wine tour before, and said that it in no way compared to what this trip had to offer!! The tour guide was very nice, and informative. She spoke some broken English, but good enough to understand her correctly. The trip was easy and relatively quick. All throughout the trip, she talked about the nature of the places we were passing, as well as the history of the Borolo wine, the production, the taste, the food pairings etc. Once we arrived to the first vineyard (the best one of the two visited during the trip), we had a chance to talk to one of the crew members there, who gave us a comprehensive run down of a wine production. They were during the actual harvest season, so it was extra cool to see the very beginning stages of wine production, in addition to all the aging barrels etc. At one point we even got to meet one of the three sisters who own the vineyard. Some time mid through the day, after seeing the wine production and the cellars, you are lead to a specious dining room, where you get to experience amazing wine and food pairing. The meal is fulfilling, and consists of little things like cheese and cold cuts samples, to a legit plate of good ol’ spaghetti! Totally worth the money for the trip. We ended up purchasing some wines from that vineyard too. They even offer to ship larger quantities back home for about 80 euros. The second vineyard is a bit smaller, and the experience lacks a bit. However it is nice to see a different approach on a production. They also offer a cool tasting- more of a journey through different seasons and styles of wine, rather than food pairing. All in all, you will drink LOTS of wine on this tour, and I must admit, the world was spinning quite a few times for me! Both places offer incredible views of the wine country, and basically transport you to your typical “Under the Tuskan Sky” world…without actually being in Tuskany. All in all, one of the coolest trips we have done in our life (and we travel A LOT)!! Highly recommend the trip to anyone who has the extra $$ and time!! Would totally do it again! …and again… and again!

My brother and I took this tour. We were fortunate to be the only two persons! Michele (Michael) was a very pleasant, friendly and knowledgeable guide. There’s lots to know about the production of wine and with the owners of the wineries and Michael we were provided lots of information. The countryside is beautiful. It’s history rich. And the wine tasting and lunch were wonderful. Exceptional tour!!

We absolutely loved the tour. It was an amazing first day in Europe. I was originally worried that there would be too much time in the car, but it was not too much driving at all. It was amazing being able to get out of the city and see the vineyards. Boris is great!
Religious Pilgrimage
, jul 2019
My wife and my favorite wine is Barolo. So while in Italy recently, we decided to make a religious-like pilgrimage to our favorite wine area. I wanted to rent a car and drive, my wife overruled me and signed up for the Barolo Wine Tour from Milan. Thank God she did. It is quite a drive from Milan to Barolo, especially for someone who does not know the area. So instead of trying to figure out where we were going, we got to sit back and enjoy the countryside. Unlike in Napa Valley where we rush from winery to winery, it Barolo, we were only scheduled to visit two. Again, thank God for that because we got to spend time there and really enjoy them. The first stop was Marrone Winery. A family run winery that has been around for many generations. They make an excellent wine and served us a fantastic lunch as well. Spent a couple of hours with them and bought a bottle to take with us. The second stop was about an hour away for a spumante winery called Bosca. I had always thought of spumante as a dessert wine that no real effort was put into. I was wrong. Another location that has been around for many generations, they made a wide variety of many excellent sparkling wines. Afterward, instead of stressing about finding our way back to Milan, we got to sit back and enjoy the ride. Overall, a great experience.
