I loved it .I've been thinking about seeing San Francisco and red woods for years. When I finally made the decision ,my son who in the meantime become a 21 year old college student ,went with me and it become the best vacation we ever had ! San Francisco and Muir Woods are just magical and Alcatraz tour was something I didn't plan on ,but turned out to be incredibly interesting .great combination and very well organized.I recommend wholeheartedly !
This package was great! It allowed us to see everything we wanted in a couple of days. The city tour was driven around in a bus with stops at the Golden Gate Bridge and at twin peaks and a museum. Alcatraz is amazing it is self directed. Muir Woods breathtaking a bus out and 1.5hr to explore!
Fabulous trip on both days. Pick up was right on time. Organisation of the trips was so professional. Our tour guide Adolfo was excellent. Fun, brilliant driver and so knowledgable. The city tour was excellent. Let down by the weather but Adolfo added extras so we didn't miss out on some of tge views we were missing. Drop off at Pier 39 with plenty of time for lunch before setting off for Alcatraz. That was an amazing experience, and very atmospheric in the cold mist and howling wind. Following morning was a trip to Muir Woods. Wonderful National Park with enough time to enjoy the highlights. Then a stop in Sausalito where I took the ferry option back....even then we were told how to get back, how much it would cost etc so we weren't stranded. Would highly recommend this trip and well done Viators for booking with Tower Tours
Great trip and our tour guide was a hoot!! The Muir woods was amazing!! I was not aware that Sausalito was not a tour but we got off and walked around, ate lunch and took the ferry back to San Fran. Good time!!!
Loved this experience. Pete was our guide and he seemed to know everything there was to know about SF. The city tour is different from the Hop-on Hop-off tour stops so you can do both and see different areas of SF. Alcatraz and Muir Woods were amazing for different reasons. We hopped off in Sausalito and took the Ferry back across to the Ferry Market. Its 12 per ticket but it was a nice ride across the bay.
I would have put 5 stars but our city tour guide was not the greatest. He was all about the arts which is great but didn't do much else. I really wanted to see the Full House house or Mrs Doubtfire house but he doesn't like to do that so saw flowers.
Would highly recommend the rest! Had time to enjoy the retreat of the trip! Really made some great memories! Also we got the wine flight and it was amazing!
Fantastic experience with Tower Tours company. I use them to park my car, as well. Reasonable price per day and able to leave my car in garage until 7pm. The tour bus where on schedule when it came time to depart. The drivers appeared knowledgable and very enthusiastic as they shared the history of San Francisco. My son and I were scheduled for Alcatraz on Friday. We picked up tickets at the main office and walked about 10-15 minutes over to Pier 33. I would suggest to drop off family at pier first, then one person pick up tickets and walk to main Alcatraz landing pier 33. We were part of morning tour, definitely more people in the morning compared to afternoon schedule. It took us 3-hours to complete audio tour. It can be done in 2-hours. Take a sweatshirt or fleece with you, as its colder and very windy in that bay area. My son was in crutches, so Alcatraz has this neat service where a golf-like cart will drive you up to main prison entrance, otherwise be prepared to walk-up 4 moderate inclined ramps to main entrance. I believe last ferry boat out of Alcatraz is @ 6pm, so plenty of time to venture around. On day 2, we started off morning to Muir woods. We probably had only 1-hour there. Unfortunately, not enough time to experience the entire park but not tour company's fault, as the traffic in San Francisco is truly to blame. The tour makes a stop @ Sausalito for those who plan to stay there for the day. What a beautiful place too. The tour bus eventually takes you back to main office for you to have lunch on your own for 1-hour in the Fisherman Wharf area. Then afternoon tour to city tour begins you can choose to do Muir woods in afternoon and city tour in morning. The driver will allow you to get off the bus to take pictures @ the Golden Gate Bridge and @ the Palace of Fine Arts but only for 10-15 minutes. You will drive to other locations but may not be able to get off due to heavy traffic cutting into time of the tour like China town, Italian town, Fisherman Wharf, start of trolley location, Japanese tea garden, Botanical garden, Music concourse where free concerts are held, science museum, opera house, government buildings and historical streets from different eras to views of the beautiful buildings/homes of the past. Definitely worth the price for a 3-bay area package deal.
The 3-in-1 package was amazing. City tour was awesome, was able to see so much of San Franciso and learn about it's history. Alcatraz tour was amazing. If you go, make sure you do the self audio tour, or you'll miss out on alot of information about Alcatraz. Our last tour was the Muir Woods.....stunning. The viator team was amazing and so helpful. Will definitely use them for our next trip.
