Although we did have some misunderstanding between the guide at the departure point, the guide was very nice and compensated the delay time for us and gave us a wonderful tour. The misunderstanding of the departure point was happened because when we booked the tour, the website requested us to choose the meeting point(we marked the Park hotel), however the confirmation voucher marked another meeting point on the voucher(145 Wakefield Street) which made us confused. Finally we waited at the Wakefield Street while the guide waited at the Park Hotel. Luckily, nearby I-site helped us to find the guide and solve the problem.

Hello Cathy, Great to hear that you had a good time on tour. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We will follow up with Trip Advisor to remedy the error with the pick-up locations.
We enjoyed this tour
, dic 2019
We enjoyed this tour, but we wish we could've gotten a short tour of the actual city at the end too. I believe it would be a more well rounded tour if you extended it a bit, and added some time to drive around the city with a couple of quick stops at important locations within the city. We had plenty of time left over before we had to get back on the cruise ship, but definitely didn't use this time as wisely as if you guys would've taken us around. We were lost wandering around for a while and then just ended up having a beer at a bar before catching the shuttle back to the ship. Adding an hour or hour and a half to this tour, and including some city commentary with quick photo stops would make this tour even better than it is. Regarding the seals, we didn't see very many, only 2, but we were happy to see at least those 2. We were worried since it was sooooooo windy, but we were able to get a bunch of great pictures of the 2 seals. They were all out at sea since it was super windy on land. We got to see the wind turbines and get some nice pictures from up there. Saw a couple wild goats as well. It was a nice tour, and the fact it was just 4 people was great, the smaller the group the more intimate the experience. Thank you so much for a great day!

Hi, Thanks for the feedback. It would be great to be able to put more of a city tour component in. The guides need to do 2 tours a day and we like to leave a little leeway between the tours as the coast and roads can be a bit unpredictable and we need to allow for issues that might slow down the trip. It sounds like you are a glass half full person and like us made the best out of what sounds like trying weather conditions. Kind Regards, Nathan Clear
Rugged and exciting

I was afraid that we were not going to be able to book the trip because it was midnight when I had a chance to go online but I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to complete the booking before I went to sleep. We were picked up at the hotel promptly at 1:30pm and our guide quickly made us feel comfortable with the others who were on the same trip. He patiently explained to us the stops that we were going to make and the significance of each. As we went through the places, he shared bits and pieces of history without making me feel as if I was an ignorant tourist. The ride along the coast over thick sand and rocks generated excitement and a sense of risk-taking without really having to take any risks. A well calibrated adventure for senior citizens.

Worth getting this tour. You get to see the beautiful surroundings of Wellington and the seal colony. Tea/coffee and muffin are included in the tour. Very knowledgeable tour guide who will tell you more about the history of Wellington.

A well run, informative and enjoyable view of natural seal colony, on the rugged south coast of Wellington. Great 4WD operator and felt safe at all times, while exploring thus rugged area. Top tour!👍
