This tour was wonderful! We went with Artty, who was a fantastic and enthusiastic guide. We truly enjoyed this trip and highly recommend it to anybody considering it! The private tour meant we could go where we preferred, and Artty knows the area well and could recommend a few interesting spots a bit off the beaten path. He shared interesting historical stories, and even pointed out several good photo spots and took our photo - even when we weren't thinking about it. This is a must-see in Bangkok.

Highly highly recommend this private day trip to Ayuttaya. Our private tour Guide Polly and driver Amix provided us excellent and professional service from telling history, bring us to have good local food at local river restaurants, to well answering all our questions. Polly provided us extra information and brought us to local markets to find good fruits as we mentioned we love fruits, although this activities is not in the itinerary. Moreover, Polly and Amix are very polite and happy tour guides make me love Thailand and Thailand people so much! Something extra must mention: Polly helped us took many good photos! This is first time to have so many good photos taken with my husband in a day trip! We enjoy this trip very much! Thank you!!!

In general this is a good trip to take if you want something different while in Bangkok. Our guide and driver were great people and overall we had a good time. It is a long day outside - so make sure to have sunscreen and water. Our guide was nice about adjusting to our pace, which was the great benefit of doing a private tour. Be ready for LOTS of walking!

My mother, sister and I went on this trip with Sammy as the guide - we highly recommend him! He spoke great English and was extremely communicative. We absolutely loved the summer palace which was a great retreat after the hectic and noisy Bangkok experience. The Ayutthaya ruins were great too though at noon, quite tiring for us. This was no problem to Sammy, who adjusted to our pace and wishes. Apart from learning a lot about the sights we've seen, Sammy was very good in explaining all questions we had about Thai history, culture and society. He also gave us good tips about places to go and see in Bangkok, Chiang Mail and Phuket which we were to visit afterwards. We found that this private tour gave us the opportunity to explore all the places for exactly as long or short in case of the more sun flooded temples as we wanted to, and that when we spoke to Sammy about our night market experience he even added a little stop along the way on an Ayutthaya market and gave us tips on what sweets and dishes to try. Also, when we decided that we wanted to have some fruit instead of the scheduled lunch, Sammy arranged the trip accordingly to our wishes. Overall, a great experience and good value for money!

Big was a fantastic guide - the best we have found in Thailand. He lived in the US for years and his English is fantastic as well as his knowledge of local history and foods etc.The combination of the royal summer palace and old city of Ayutthaya was really good - as well as lunch on the river and then sweet roti for dessert. There was a bit of confusion about who pays for lunch with Viator after booking - lunch was included, then excluded but the tour company gives you 200 Baht credit for food - but you will spend quite a bit more on the fresh grilled jumbo shrimp if you want to try this local speciality highly recommended.
