Es un lugar que toda persona debe tratar de conocer, para comptobar su existencia y que no se olvide lo sucedido. Ese sufrimiento no puede volver a pasar en el mundo.

Moving and insightful tour

I’d highly recommend this moving, powerful and really insightful tour. Ernestina was a thoughtful guide who was thoroughly versed on the site’s history (and other areas of Berlin’s history). She was business-like, efficient, and very friendly (happy to answer all questions to a high degree) and had curated a really special tour for the group. She also looked out for the welfare of the group - it is a particularly emotional draining day. I would happily take any of her tours again.

George was a great guide. While this was a hard day and a lot to take in, George told true stories, shared historical facts, and brought history to life. For anyone looking for a historical experience with real life stories to truly understand what happened, this is for you. Highly highly recommend. Some logistics - you're on your feet and walking for several hours, so wear comfortable walking shoes. Also bring a snack and water, as there are is no food available. We went in December and were comfortable in a warm winter coat.

Elizabeth was an excellent tour guide. She narrated everything with great empathy. I would really recommend to take this tour. We read about the holocaust in books and watch in movies, but standing on the grounds where the actual happenings took place is a different experience altogether. Even though the tour itself can be a quite depressing, one should visit the place that witnessed one of the most dark chapters in the history of genocide.

I had Jules as my guide. She has amazing knowledge of this place as she has worked there in the past. Her presentation of the information was great. I would recommend this tour to everyone.

Sobering...

A review here seems...trivial in relation to the subject matter. This was the trenchant high point of our trip to Berlin...a view of where the horrors of concentration camps began, and a beacon for overcoming such hatred. We were surprised at how large the site was, its scope requiring at least 2 days to take in. So with only one day to spare in a crowded schedule, this tour was invaluable. Our guide Max was indispensable to seeing important areas of the memorial, some we no doubt would have missed if left to ourselves. Max also provided insight into the origins of the concentration camps -- and the people who ran them -- that I had not heard before. If you only have a limited number of days in Germany, find time to visit Sachsenhausen. Highly recommended.
