Fantastic tour of Battle of the Bulge area
Emily L

Jean and his wife Linda were amazing tour guides and we learned so much about the Battle of the Bulge. He has a standard tour route but does tailor it to what you would like to see - including Spa's F1 racetrack for my husband. We saw more than I ever thought we would in one day. Worth every penny. He is retiring after this year, so be sure to book this tour before he does! He also does WWI and Waterloo tours.

Great Day

Jean was very knowledgeable and flexible with his itinerary. We got to see items off the normal path. It was humbling to walk through the woods and see foxholes still exist from the 101st Airborne group outside of Bastogne. I highly recommend it!

We were fortunate to have Jean and his wife Linda as our guides on this tour. It was a full day that was well organized to ensure that we were able to really experience the history of the area. Jean was very knowledgeable, experienced and organized in his approach to the trip. We covered a lot of territory and enjoyed the excursion.

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Our guide was a very lovely man and went out of his way to take us to all that was important on this tour. The only thing we were a bit disappointed in was his English was a bit hard to understand at times. But apart from that a very good tour.

Jean deserves a 6 or even a 10 rating on this tour!! He was everything I had read about and that much more. My Father was in the 101st Airborne at Bastogne when the famous Nuts response was uttered Jean was aware that our interests were to follow the path of my Father and he did an outstanding job making it happen. He was also great with his sense of direction to get us to the nearest pharmacy so I could buy some gauze to bandage my arm when I accidentally stepped off a curb. Through all of this, he was able to cover all the critical elements of the tour in a timely fashion. Thank you Jean for an outstanding job.

Excellent tour! Our mission was to visit the grave site of a family member buried at Henri Chapelle Cemetery, see sites related to his service plus other key places highlighted in the tour description. Our guide, Jean, was a great asset. He assisted us with resources and arrangements at the cemetery. Jean shared his keen knowledge of the battles and events of Dec '44, Jan '45. He and our super driver got us down back roads and to historic markers we never could have found without them. We appreciated their flexibility on places and timing. Yes, the tour was expensive for a party of 3 but we got a memorable day!

This tour was a gift to my mother for her birthday and she absolutely loved it. We were able to see where my grandfather, her father fought in WW II, and our tour guide Jean was amazing. He was so knowledgable and had our route mapped out perfectly. The museum, the foxholes, and all of the amazing memorials we saw were so moving. Thank you for such s wonderful tour.

I did not have the guide reserved due to a serious illness. These things happen. His substitute was well versed and flexible to my needs. As my daughter ending up joining me, I needed to revise the day at the last minute to include her interests as well. Thus, we had a half WW2 and half visit Luxemboug tour. We covered all the territory I most wished and then some. The driver was also very nice. Private tours are always the best if one can arrange for it.

We travel often and have taken lots...

We travel often and have taken lots of tours, both private and group. This was, without a doubt, the WORST tour we have ever had. If you are thinking of booking this tour, SAVE YOUR MONEY! This was more of a really expensive taxi service than a tour. His lack of knowledge and history regarding World War II made us speculate if he had just decided he could make money doing this tour, so went to the museum to pick up a couple of quotes that he could just parrot over and over, thus qualifying himself as a tour guide. His lack of real knowledge on the subject was breathtaking, He was like a museum audio tour and just kept repeating the same short factoids over and over, no matter what you asked. The day pretty much went along with him telling us a very brief and obvious anecdote about where we were going, then driving the rest of the way mostly in silence, then pulling up to the site, him pointing to it and saying, there it is, then driving on to the next place. Half the time we didn't even get out of the car, and these sites were sometimes an hour apart. It was a lot of silence, unless he was talking about himself. If this is the only tour you can find, you are better off just finding a ride to the World War II Museum. It is a truly great and well done museum, and only about 5 minutes from Jack's Woods if you want to go see the foxholes. Our guide almost made us miss the Museum too. He was uninformed about the last entry time as well as how long it should take someone with any real interest in the subject to go through it. We were so disgusted with his tour that we requested he take us to the museum about two hours earlier than he was going to. We actually got there about 15 minutes before the last entry, and whereas he had originally planned on us being there about thirty minutes, it realistically takes about two hours to do the different exhibits and displays. If you are looking for a Battle of the Bulge tour, you can certainly do better than this one.
