Excursión en barco aceptable. Lugares mágicos

Cómo era invierno en Hanoi estaba fresco, solo había aire acondicionado en las Habitaciones Las excursiones estuvieron muy bien y el guía impecable tanto en su explicación como en su atención. En el barco le falta un poco de mantenimiento, la comida no era variada y menos para los que no comemos pescado (ni hablar para los vegetarianos o veganos, que no fue nuestro caso). Casi que todos los días comíamos mismo. De día es buffet y a la noche parece que lo que sobró del mediodía te lo arman en un plato. Las bebidas son todas aparte, inclusive el agua. En mi opinión deberían incluir bebidas básicas dentro del menú y los tragos cobrarlos aparte. Sino parece que cada vez que estás por comer te están vendiendo algo. Hay actividades del barco que nunca ocurrieron como la nocturna de un supuesto Karaoke o el TaiChi.

El barco y la tripulación Magenta fueron excepcionales: un barco muy agradable y limpio, actividades interesantes y comida fenomenal. El servicio de recogida fue espantoso por decirlo suavemente. La llegada al barco también es mucho más tarde de lo anunciado, lo que reduce materialmente el tiempo disponible para las actividades diurnas en lo que ya es un itinerario corto. Lleve las críticas muy positivas con una pizca a una montaña de sal: me ofrecieron transporte gratuito (probablemente por valor de ~ $ 10-15) al aeropuerto si y solo si dejaba una crítica positiva. En mi experiencia, si puedes reservar el Magenta y evitar al operador turístico, ¡estás en el negocio!

Not a two day cruise - five star reviews are a scam

Okay, where to start. First off don’t trust the five star reviews. On the last day of the tour they text everyone asking them to leave a five star review in exchange for a free taxi to the airport ($14). So here it is, my honest review . First issue is that it is not two a day tour. They pick you up at 8am but due to a stop at a pearl farm (not on the itinerary) and the fact you have to take a tender out to the boat we didn’t board til 1pm. We then cruised to La Nah bay, kayaked, and then spent the rest of the trip in that location. We didn’t get to see as much of Halong Bay as I thought we would have for a ‘two day’ cruise. We went out to this one spot and stayed there. In the morning, they tinder you to a cave and then back on the boat for an hour a free time. You can’t even spend it in your room as they want you out so they can turn the room over for the next tour. We were off the boat by 11am and back to the dock where we had to wait 30 mins for a bus. They basically split groups up and put us on different buses. The bus was so cramped we got off on the first stop and six other people did with us as well. Other cons - cooking class was basically hand rolling fresh spring rolls. No talking about flavors or how to make a dipping sauce. Pros - food was plentiful and they did a good job a keeping track of dietary preferences wherever you sit. Service was excellent We got upgraded for free - our room was lovely with bathtub and balcony Would recommend booking with a tour company in Hanoi

We can highly recommend this tour. We chose the option of the 5-star ship and spent our time with the Alisa Premier Cruise. The transfer from Hanoi and the way back was on time and very comfortable. The crew of the ship was highly professional and helpful, especially our tour guide James. We really enjoyed the activities and the food on board, there was also plenty of vegetarian food. The cabins were comfortable and we slept really well. Thank you very much for this great experience!

I had a pleasant stay on Athena cruise. The staff was very nice and helpful throughout the whole stay. The food was really good and they make special dishes for me as I am vegetarian. Ha Long bay is a beautiful place and is worth visiting iy.

A fabulous day and night

What a night. Well thought out time table. Amazing views. It lots of waiting around but not so busy your exhausted. We met some great people from all around the world. Food was great. We don’t eat seafood, fish and I’m not a fan of meat on a bone but they catered well for us. A bottle of wine was 950,000 (£35) but we bought this when we first had lunch and had a glass each and then they kept the bottle behind the bar for us for later on.

Halong Bay as Place is great! Transport from Hanoi to Halong Bay very nice. Alisa Cruise was average, nothing 5*+ about it. Especially, the ground staff handling of guests need to improve!

Too much wasted time

The bay itself is great and we were very happy we went. Also, the crew members on the boat are fantastic! Someone had a baby with them who was crying during dinner, and one of the crew members carried the child around and played with him, while the parents got to relax and enjoy dinner. My biggest issue is the itinerary. The “2 hour” drive from Hanoi takes 5 hours from the time you get picked up from the hotel until you’re on the boat. And the second day you check out at 9:30am, get off the boat at 10:20, and don’t get back to the hotel until around 3. The limousine is a coach bus with AC and was pretty comfortable. The boat itself was nice, rooms were pretty clean and balconies were great. The room did get pretty stuffy at night though. The bathroom drain was clogged so we had a flood incident. Overall, the accommodations were decent. I think that this is a fine tour overall and a decent way to see Ha Long Bay. But the only thing “6 star” about it is the crew on the boat. Crew 10/10 Boat 9/10 Room 7/10 Transport 4/10

Very well organized trip. Our guide Alex was top notch. The food was fantastic. We had such a great time, learned a lot about Halong Bay and the Vietnamese culture and way of life. Highly recommend this tour, good value.

Really great experience with amazing landscapes on the Bay, some activities and the quality of the food was also quite good. Only felt the organization before getting on board was not ideal and it took a lot of time and confusion.

We we really looking forward to this trip, and we booked a room with a balcony( witch was more expensive than an option without a balcony). The photos on the app weren't the same as the ship we were put on. We soon realized tha our room didn't have a balcony, and complained to the cruise manager. He said he couldn't do nothing about it, and that it was the agencys fault. We contacted the agendy, and they told us that they put us in a room with a big window, because there were no more room with balconies witch nobody informed us about. So we basically paid for it, and they didn't even bother. It was only after i said i woul leave a review with pictures of the toilet and non ironed sheets for a price od 165$ a night per person that they started acting nicely . They said they would now move us to another ship with a balcony, but all of this came as an inconvinience cause we had only one day on the boat, and had to already szart with out activities( kayaking, exploring...) we eventualy moved to the other ship because we wanted to get what we paid for but it required of us time to repack and we missed one session of kayacking. They could've solved our problem much faster, at the start, but obviously if i didn't say i would post an honest review to show how the transfer people not accordingly to the rooms they payed for, they would let us stay there. In the cheaper room, eithout an apology or explamation .so make sure you are on the right ship, and you check your room before the boat takes off!!

If I would go again, I would have done the one day tour instead of the overnight for sure. The main activities are the same so you basically get to see the main things. Food on the boat was not good. Rooms were ok but at least mine was extremely noisy due to the boats machine noises so I never managed to sleep. Any inside the boat activities (thai chi, cooking class) were very average and that was the main difference with daily cruises instead of overnight so I wouldn’t spend the night there. The place itself (Halong bay) was superb.

It was a nice cruise. The guide in our trip doesn't used to travel with us to tell us about the particular places instead gives us a brief explanation in the starting and gives a time bound to reach to the exit point till then to explore and move according to individual pace. The party vibe was less which was the only thing I felt was missing.

This was a great quick cruise we decided to do during our trip! The staff were very nice and professional. A few tips: if you’re vegetarian they will serve you at your table and the food will keep on coming!! The piña colada was amazing. There is a heater and AC in the room. We booked a room without a balcony and it did not look like the pictures but was perfectly fine for the trip. Mr. Tom was very funny and professional and made sure we had a great experience.
Below average hospitality, good cruise and great place to visit

Good place and worth doing a cruise. This particular booking was quite average, it started with poor communication. The 1 person who contacted us before only told us that we will receive all info 1 day before @ 11pm. The pickup was a nightmare and no one confirmed when we will be picked up or even if we will be picked up. I tried to ring 2 contacts, who had pinged me and they don't pick the phone at ALL. The cruise was nice, but no information is given beforehand on places that will be visited or what food will be served. Language is an issue and also food was quite average with really no good options for vegetarians. You will like it if you have sea food, in our 3 meals - we had only 1 option with chicken. Timelines are quite bizarre with no flexibility, I missed a boating at 7am as I was late by 4 mins. Breakfast timing is 6-7am, they are quite inflexible on timing and also not polite. I am talking about 5 mins here.
