My wife and I were looking for something different to do outside of Lisbon and chose to do this day trip. We'd recommend this trip. Evora is a lovely little town with excellent Roman ruins in the city center, with several churches (including the church of the bones) to visit. The olive oil testing was good and lunch was provided as well. The guide showed up on-time in a clean and spacious van and was very attentive. You do get about an hour and a half on your own to explore the city before leaving. We had the chance to do a wine tasting, were we brought back several bottles of wine.
Our tour guide Ricardo was the bomb! He was awesome by being accommodating and informative throughout the tour experience. My friend and I were traveling from Ireland and made a mistake in our booking of accommodation. Therefore, we had our luggage and was frantically searching for a place to store our luggage so we don't have it for the tour. Ricardo was so accommodating, he allowed us to leave it in the minivan when he sensed our distress. So happened, my friend and I were the only ones on the tour that day, so it felt like a private tour. We started the experience by getting picked up in one of the best-airconditioned vans that we experienced while traveling in Europe. When we got to Evora, we got to sample different olive oils. My friend and I bought some back. After, we visited iconic monuments such as the Temple of Diana. Also, Ricardo explained the history of the cork trees and the cork making process. Evora is a small and beautiful town. Ricardo gave us plenty of free time to go shopping in the town. I would recommend you save some euros and buy cork products in Lisbon. It is cheaper in price while having the same quality. Overall this was a wonderful tour of the beautiful countryside of Portugal.
Vasco was a very knowledgeable and friendly guide. He slowed the van so I could take some photos on the side of the road. Our small group decided to have lunch together and Vasco recommended and joined us at a wonderful local restaurant. The town was charming and the olive oil tasting was fabulous.
Daniel picked us up right on time in a sparkling clean van and drove us to Evora. He was knowledgeable, delightful, and very considerate of my travel partner who has some trouble walking. Wonderful day spent in a different part of Portugal, learned and saw a lot and was delivered back. I highly recommend this trip.
Our day trip to Evora was a delight. For us, the guide is so important to the trip. Miquela was enthusiastic , knowledgeable and well-organized. We visited a cork tree farm and found out how cork was harvested and the many uses of cork. We also saw olive trees and later engaged in olive tasting. In Evora we sampled a number of wines in a wine- tasting session. Also in Evora, we went on a walking tour where Miquela showed us several historical places including the Chapel of the Bones. It is also important to have some free time on your own. We enjoyed eating lunch in a small café and shopping for souvenirs. All in all a great time !
It was fantastic.
Carlos was friendly and informative and read weather and our group well.
The ancient stones, the chapel of bones, the olive oil and the wine tasting were all fabulous.
We saw Roman ruins and lots of countryside as well.
Our tour guides were so sweet and well informed. The city of Evora is amazing and beautiful! The city, the structures, the churches are all
wonderful! We had lunch at an amazing little restaurant and the food was exceptional!
