This trip from Reykjavik was awesome!! The "secret lagoon" is old-fashioned, out of the way and WAAAAY underpopulated, at least on the April evening we were there -- the 3 peeps from our tour, and one other couple in the whole (small) lagoon. We were there from 8-9pm, just enough time to get totally relaxed. No gimmicks, no swim-up bar. It was so like our old hot springs resorts in Montana. The buffet meal, 5 minutes away, was amazing. We were greeted with the dining room door opening as we drove into the parking lot. It was just the 4 of us at dinner, with the hosts not-quite hovering to make sure everything was satisfactory. All local delicacies and specialties, starting with a heavenly cream of mushroom soup (the mushroom farm a couple of miles down the road supplies all of Iceland), then our choices -- tried some of each -- of salmon 2 ways (with 2 sauces), incredibly delicious herring -- also 2 ways, with more sauces, thin-sliced smoked lamb (a Christmas dish, but brought out for guests in April!) (perfect with a big slather of Iceland butter on the 24-hour-baked in the hot ground brown bread), super fresh salad with ingredients from the local greenhouse (heated by the hot ground in the area), roasted lamb and roasted cod, both with special sauces. Let's see, was that all? A heavenly chocolate dessert was brought out on plates. OK, at that point, I said to Gulla, our awesome guide, I don't really care if we don't see the lights tonight (even though I've now been to Iceland 4 times and never seen them yet) -- this was a perfect evening. Well, we drove a few minutes to the spot Gulla had scoped out as the best possibility for a sky show, and before we even arrived, the sky was beginning to light up. We watched, standing outside for a while, and then from inside the van (BIG windows!!) when it got too cold. It went on and on. We finally left after a couple of hours, but pulled over several times on the 50-minute drive back to take more pictures and just marvel in the action above us. Gulla's MANY photos showed blazing greens and even a little red, while our eyes saw only white, but what an evening!! She said it was the best she'd seen in the past months. Gulla's enthusiastic information, stories, answers to questions about Iceland life, mythology, trolls and elves, housing costs, tax rates and many other subjects made the drive fun and educational -- she's a great teacher. This was far beyond my expectations for my arrival in Iceland

The food was excellent! So fresh and well prepared; incredible assortment of seafood. The secret lagoon was a perfect; small intimate group; no more than 15 people. We felt like we had the place to ourselves. We did not see the Norther Lights and it was not fault of our guide; the weather was cloudy. Our guide went above and beyond in searching for clear spots. Highly recommend this tour!

We enjoyed this relaxing evening. No Northern Lights, though. Actually, we were in Iceland for 10 days and never saw them, so I'm not sure how common seeing them is.

The Secret Lagoon at night was a different experience. The buffet was delightful and we did get a chance to see the northern lights.

I would’ve rather have this canceled when they knew we wouldn’t see the lights. The guide didn’t even try to see the lights and so it felt like I paid for a very expensive dinner that wasn’t good.

Enjoyed every part of this trip: the Secret Lagoon was great, the food and the way it was presented was great, and we got to see the Northern Lights. Our guide, Chris, did an excellent job during the bus ride pointing out areas of interest and was very knowledgeable. We understood that our chances of seeing the Northern Lights weren't the greatest, but Chris spotted them on the bus ride back to Reykjavik and we spent 30 minutes or so watching and photographing. Even if we hadn't seen them it would have been a great trip, I recommend it.

Brilliant experience. Very pleasant driver called Chris who was very informative. Excellent meal. Didn't see the Northern Lights as it was a cloudy night but Chris tried hard to find them!
