We are boat people and this was the best way I could imagine seeing eagles, seals and the beautiful scenery from the bay! Highly recommend especially when they give you hand, foot and slicker gear to keep you dry!

Top notch excursion. Very organized and thorough. Equipment very clean and well taken care of. Excursion leader very knowledgeable about area. We had a sunny, perfect day for boating. Saw numerous whales and two eagles. Would highly recommend this company. Everyone was very friendly and helpful....a real Alaskan memory.

The weather was wonderful, our guide was great - he knew what he was doing. Right down to the gear and the boats we could not have had a better time. The entire staff stressed safety first. We saw humpback whales and a pod of killer whales swan within 125 yards of the boats. I would STRONGLY recommend Zodiac Wildlife Adventures to anyone interested in a on the ocean experience.

We had a fantastic time on this excursion. We learned a lot about the area and I would love to go back to fully explore Ketchikan. Our guide was knowledgeable and super friendly. Watching the eagles swoop for fish right in front of the boat will be a lifelong memory. The boat was easy to navigate and they provided us with all the gear we needed to stay warm and dry.

I wasn't really sure what to expect. But, we were met by a very professional guide who boarded us on a very clean shuttle for the short ride to the launch location. We went inside and were immediately given some great information about what we would be doing AND outfitted in the best of gear for protection....the orange and yellow suits in the photo....you will need them! Took about 10 minutes to get into the Helly Hanson suits and gear. We all looked a little like yellow Michelin men.
Pete, our guide, gave us all very clear instructions on how to drive the zodiak....safely. We boarded and off we went for the excursion. Be prepared if you plan to go on this great trip to get wet....the spray from the other boats and off the water will get you wet, but the suits are great and keep you very dry. The salt air spray will keep your face damp throughout the trip, IF you get too close to the boats in front.
We learned a lot about the area from Pete...saw some beautiful scenery and then he took us into a lovely cove with an old cabin...and we learned about how the original settler had built a rock wall to catch fish as the tide came in.....but the best part was he whistled for the eagles in the nearby trees and threw a fish into the water. An eagle who had been perched on a nearby limb watching us soared away from the tree and started a streamlined ascent to the fish which was on the surface right between our zodiak and the next one inf front of us. He or she with talons extended strafed the surface and grabbed the fish. We were so close I missed a lot of photos as I had my telephoto lens on and the eagle was less than 8' from me at the time.....but I did get about 30 or more pictures as the eagle approached and flew away.
We then moved on to see other parts of the area around Ketchikan and learn more of the history. Pete was very knowledgeable, even though not an Alaska native. He took us to a giant eagle nest and gave lots of information about habitat and eating habits. We got to see first hand what he meant when he described eagles as being scavengers when we were on our final leg back to the dock. We passed an inlet where fishermen evidently had cleaned fish and threw the unwanted parts on the water....there were about 20 eagles enjoying the day's buffet....what a treat to see so many eagles in one location and so nearby.
All in all, it was our favorite excursion....although we had many other enjoyable ones on this trip....eagles have always been a fascination for me personally and this was the treat of a lifetime to be less than 10 feet from a beautiful bald eagle with a 7' wingspan.
Oh, and just the exhilaration of planing out a navy seal type boat at 25-30 miles per hour across the Pacific ocean....well worth the money!

One of the highlights of our trip. I would rank this tour second to the helicopter ride to the top of the glacier. My 11 year old daughter loved this tour so much. She wanted to take over the boat.

This was a fun experience, with a little education of the Tongass National Forest thrown in. Our guide Mary was great. She led us through the waters and identified the flora and fauna for us to enjoy. She shared a little history of Ketchican too. We were dry and pretty warm, but the temp was in the 50's and we were on the water. After the tour we were welcomed back to a hot drink and crab dip and crackers. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was that we felt we were rushed out of there upon our return. I was looking at the T-shirts they had for sale, and The girl announced the driver was there standing in the doorway and we could take some crackers along with us on our way back to the ship. Kinda like okay you are done get out of here.

This was a great excursion. Mary, our guide was fun, knowledgeable and very patient. We were able to see a whale about 20 yards from our raft. An eagle swooped down right in front of us! This was one of the highlights of our Alaskan adventure. Would highly recommend!

Great excursion! We were able to see a whale about 20 yards from our raft. We saw eagles and one actually swooped down in front of us. Was an exhilerating experience. I would highly recommend this excursion. Mary, our guide was great, fun and knowledgeable.
