It was a great day. We started with some views. I really liked lunch, we had amazing pie. The beach was also beautiful. The highlight was of course the end, we saw so many wombats in their natural habitat. This was very memorable. Then we had burgers while the sun went down. Can really recommend the tour. You will feel the love with which Dave is organizing every detail . 😊

Huge disappointment, waste of time and money!

The operator doesn't pick up in the morning even though only a maximum of 9 people go on the tour. I had a choice of two meeting locations to get to at my expense and trouble. We rode for a long time and went to a public beach access to see a blow hole. Then we went to a nearby beach to use the public restrooms and then to a restaurant for lunch. We were given a bottle of water from the cooler in the back of the van and told we could order a meat pie or a sandwich. That's it. The pie is good but is so small lunch is more of a snack than a meal. Were were given a banana and snack bar later and a bottle of water. We went to a few waterfalls and spent a short time at each. Some of them were the same waterfall just further down the road to get a different view. We went for a walk in a park and saw some lyre birds. I asked if there were other wildlife and was told there were water dragons when it was warm. It was cold. We walked by a stream where there was a platypus sign and when I asked if we could see one was told they only come out before dark and it wasn't dark enough yet. We went to kangaroo valley to see the kangaroos and wombats roam wild. I saw more wombats on the side of the road dead than at the park. There were only 3 there. The kangaroos were on the other side of the fence in the brown brush. They are brown so the pictures weren't that good. They did go through the park later briefly. The whole area smelled like poop. It was cold and windy the whole day and by the time we got to the park the wind was so bad it was hard to hold the camera steady. It rained and since there wasn't a canopy we ate our burger inside the van. The operator did drop us off at our hotels. This tour should not be operated this time of year because it is too cold to enjoy the area, see flowering plants, and wildlife. If I had known the what the weather is like this time of year in that area I would not have gone. More time was spent riding than anything else. If you have mobility issues do not go because of the steep walks and rocks. It was a huge disappointment and waste of time and money. I regret going. I only had 2 days to spend in the area and I wasted 1 on this tour. If you want to see kangaroos and wallabies up close go to Featherdale. They will eat out of your hands there.

Unfortunately we got off on the wrong foot as I wasn't able to pick you up from your accommodation. We have two pick up points located near the main accommodation areas of Sydney, as per tour information and ticket. We advise all guest in our pre departure info to dress warm this time of year as it's winter and much cooler outside of Sydney in the Southern Highlands or Blue Mountains. Unfortunately it was a windy day, this is an outdoor activity, and this impacted your experience as there were many wombats but you prefered to stay in the van. Fantastic we were able to see several rare Lyre birds on the tour. The short walk to Fitzroy Falls in the National Park does have information signs for the platypus, wombat and Lyre bird: these are for educational purposes only. Apologies for not having the shelter up - I was caught by surprise, when I asked the group, the consensus was to eat in the van. There are some walks more difficult if you have mobility issues which you can sit out as the guest on your tour did. For more info please contact me before booking. Featherdale is a great wildlife zoo I'm glad you were able to feed the animals there. The purpose of this tour is to see australian wild animals in their natural habitat. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip in Ozzie. Cheer Dave
Amazing experience!

This day tour was an awesome experience and definitely worth the cost. Despite the freezing cold windy weather, Dave made it fun and showed us so many cool places. The waterfalls were beautiful. The highlight of the trip was definitely Kangaroo Valley with the wombats and kangaroos and dinner though. Unforgettable day, highly recommend!!

I had high expectations for this tour because I had purchased it as an anniversary present for my husband who loves wombats and desperately wanted to see them in the wild and I could not be more pleased. There are no other tours like this one and it is really special to have so much connection with nature and animals throughout the entire day. We started out along the coast (saw a humpback whale during whale season!) where we had a delicious lunch and then worked our way into the rainforest where we saw lyrebirds and then finally kangaroos and HEAPS OF WOMBATS. They all seemed really healthy and happy which meant a lot to me. It would be wonderful for people of all ages and especially good for kids although our van was full of couples and singles in their 20s and 30s and we had a great time. Stop looking and book this tour now before it sells out because this tour was the highlight of our 2 week trip to Australia. Thank you so much Dave!!

If you are looking for an experience with both photo-ops AND wildlife encounters, this tour is for you. I snapped hundreds of beautiful photos, ate lunch outside like a local on a stunning bay, learned a great deal about the Australian wildlife and wilderness, and ended the day with BBQ by Dave among the Wombats and Kangaroos. This tour had lots of stops leading up to the final Wombats and Kangaroo experience, where I was treated to eye-and-lens candy aplenty, so be ready to see a variety of the local wilderness sites before you walk with the Wombats. Dave is thoughtful enough to provide USB charging cables and ports in the tour van, which I used to manage the gigs of photos I took on this tour. He was also ready with bottled water during the whole day, and was very diligent about providing for the majority-vegetarian crowd he had on our tour. The BBQ he did at the end was perfect, and there were even Tim Tams!!! I was a solo traveler for this, and Dave was very attentive on the initial drive to get the group talking, even though I was the only native English speaker. Overall, this tour exceeded my expectations, since I went into this wanting lots of photos and time to walk along with the wildlife, and I got that AND more. Thanks for a perfect day, Dave!

Great Tour and Terrific Value
, juil. 2019
Dave just started this tour a few months ago, but it seems like he's been doing it for a long time. The sights were great. We got to see the Kiama Blowhole and numerous waterfalls, walk through a rainforest, and take in ocean views. Of course, the best part was the up close encounter with the wombats in the evening. While Dave cooked us a barbeque dinner, we got to walk around the camp ground and get up close with at least 15-20 wombats roaming around the clearing. The wombats were very focused on eating the grass and didn't mind you standing next to them and getting great pictures. As the sun set, at least 2 or 3 dozen kangaroos and more wombats emerged from the bush to graze in the clearing. It's definitely an all inclusive tour. Dave bought us meat pies for lunch and cooked us a great BBQ dinner with beef, chicken, and veggie burgers along with some kangaroo, emu, and crocodile meat to sample. He also had wine and beer to go along with dinner and extra bottles of water. I would have liked a bit more narration during the drives between attractions, but overall this was a fantastic day out and one of the best value day trips you can go on in Australia.

This tour was the highlight of my trip to Sydney. David was a kind and informative host. The itinerary was just as described. After great vistas and lots of waterfalls in national parks, we spent the evening surrounded by tons of kangaroos and wombats.
