We liked that this was a walking tour which meant also catching local public transport. Bella had also made sure that we had faster entry into the Forbidden City in busy school holidays period. This was appreciated in the very hot weather. Bella gave us fascinating insight into the history of the Forbidden City which could not be achieved with just a combination of visiting and reading signs and books. We also liked eating local foods afterwards although we became rather full from too much food. I would recommend Bella as an excellent English speaking guide.

Our tour guide was Becky who was friendly, spoke excellent English, and did a great job of tailoring the tour to our interests. We had walked through Tiennamen Square the night before the tour, so she took that off the agenda and we spent more time in the Forbidden City instead.

We had already been in China almost two weeks by the time we took this tour, so there was plenty of Chinese food we didn't need to sample again. Nevertheless, Becky still managed to find some truly out-of-the-way places that had interesting and tasty food that we hadn't encountered before. Even with that, she managed to stay within our limits no scorpions on a stick or grilled grubs.

In addition, there were a few things my wife wanted to buy that we hadn't managed to find yet. Becky was able to identify where we'd find those things, and took us there. My wife was able to get everything she wanted, and I had a bonus of being able to walk around the new China television building which is an architectural wonder and take photos while they were shopping. All-in-all, a very enjoyable way to spend 6 hours.
