I can honestly not say enough good things about this tour! I was a little skeptical since I've never booked through Viator before, and this trip runs through a local company called Traverse Jamaica, but I trusted the prior reviews. I called the 800 the day before just to confirm and they said I was all set. The tour guide showed up promptly before 9AM at our hotel as stated. As we made our way to Blue Hole, Laschells, our tour guide, showed us different local vegetation along the way and was very polite and informative! He was awesome! The road to Blue Hole was sketchy and I began to get a bit nervous. After getting off the shuttle, we were met with our Blue Hole guide, Neil. And from there I felt like we had the best booking ever! We began with a cliff dive and rope swing at Blue Hole. I felt like I was being rushed at first, until I realized that Neil had so much more planned for us! We hiked until we came to the next waterfall, swam and jumped there, then hiked and jumped to the next and the next. There was so much to see! From what I understand, other tours may only do one or 2 parts of the entire area, where Neil took us to as many as were along the route! IT WAS AMAZING! We found out that this is a fairly new tourist attraction hence the rocky roads but that is what made it so special! Mostly untouched and at the bottom, we were the only people there! On our hike back, Laschelle even bought us some fresh coconut and coconut water to try!
Traverse Jamaica had a cameraman following us, taking pictures of everything. We had a Go Pro, but these pictures that Nouvelle took, were awesome so we spent the 80 to get them emailed to us. Mind you it was 80, for over 100 pictures! Definitely worth it because the quality was great! From there, we went to Dunns River Falls. Unfortunately the cameraman is unable to accompany you inside here and Dunns River tries to get you to spend another 40 for the CD of pics and videos of your whole group. We decided to pass on these, since we bought the ones from Blue Hole, and still had our go-pro. We really enjoyed Dunns River also, although it is a major tourist attraction. Getting out of Dunns River back to the shuttle almost ruins the whole experience. It's so populated with vendors selling things and pulling at you, that you want to run screaming, so Beware! Biggest advice is to make sure you have enough cash with you for tips. I felt like I didn't bring enough. A tip for the tour guide, the guide at Blue Hole, the guide at Dunns River: polite, generous and well worthy of a good tip in my opinion. And then the vendors only accept cash if you did want to buy anything. You don't even need to have it on you. The vendors will walk back to the bus to get your money, so don't think saying I don't have any cash on me will get you away from them! And don't forget your Water shoes! If you are considering this tour, I would HIGHLY recommend it! You will NOT be disappointed. The total trip time was @4.5 hours. I am so happy to have gotten a more local feel to this experience!
