Vue d'ensemble

Shore Excursion: Zip & Dip Adventure | mars 2020
We really enjoyed our excursion. There were 4 of us women from 52-71. We loved the zip lines, petting and holding the animals. Corvin was great. He was patient with us and took us all around. It was raining off and on, so we decided to skip the beach. He took us shopping at the West End instead. We had a great time.

Shore Excursion: Zip Line Adventure with Monkey/Sloth Hang-out and Snorkel | mars 2020
This was amazing. We had A wonderful guide named Jeffrey. He was a gentlemen. Myself, wife and two daughters had a blast. First we walked off the NCL Getaway and found Anderson Tours right outside the gate. We walked to zipline a few blocks away. The folks at zipline adventure were awesome. Be ready for a good time. Darwin, John, Marco and others were great. Ziplined 16 lines through the jungle. We saw animals monekys, sloths and parrots. Dont leave without trying the fried chicken, snapper or jerk chicken. Jeffrey then took us snorkeling. Impressed is an understatement, there we met Bryson our underwater guide. He took us around for 30 minutes, and believe me 30 minutes is enough if you dont do this often. The reefs and corals - amazing. From there we stopped and were able to hang out at a beach club had a beer and snack and back to port. In all a great day.

Roatan Shore Excursion: Zip Line Adventure with City Tour Shopping and Beach | mars 2020
Unlike cruise ship tours, part of the adventure with Viator is never knowing where to meet the operator and what exactly to expect. As usual, it was a little bit of a walk from the ship to the beginning of the tour at the zip line. Our guide, Ron Wittecker was right where he was supposed to be and led us thru the old cemetery and a neighborhood to the zip line. Our zip line crew, Darwin and Remy were there to fit us with harnesses. Next we boarded a pickup truck with wooden benches in the back and traveled up a very steep trail to the first zip platform. I think we left claw marks in the benches of the truck as we had to really hang on to keep from sliding out the back. There was a beautiful view of the ship in Coxen Hold from the first platform. After a brief instruction. We began our zippy decent. I believe we were told there are 17 zip lines of varying lengths and 3 cable suspension bridges to cross. As this was our first zip line experience it was very exhilarating. Darwin and Remy were excellent and took great care with my 86 year old wife (me too). After the zip line Ron loaded us into a nice air conditioned SUV for a trip that included a rum factory, a chocolate factory and lots of shopping. It was a great excursion.

Great Beaches and Animals, Make Sure To Bring A Lot of Cash

Shore Excursion: Roatan Private VIP Customizable Island Tour | mars 2020
Great country and good service, by far a great option to book if you want to bang out 2 or 3 things while you’re in the country. However my top recommendations would be to somewhat familiarize yourself with Roatan first and make sure to bring more spending money here than you would for other excursions. I compiled 15 things to do in Hondorus via google searches and had them all in my notes but all of them except 3 were too far for the private guide to take us or on the main island (not Roatan). Additionally, outside of seeing the monkeys, sloths, etc. (which I recommend but only takes an hour or so), the tour guide did not have many other recommendations for us which I was surprised about. The Rum factory that comes with the tour takes only 10 minutes to walk through (it’s more of a store) and you definitely should do your homework before booking this excursion. After seeing the monkeys, sloths, etc. we ended up really only having the choice to go to West Bay Beach for $20 a person or Little French Key for $35 a person and have a beach day. The beaches are apparently privately owned which we did not know so we were under funded with the $50 we each brought on us. We ended up going to West Bay beach where we could only snorkel with our own gear in a limited space because of the patrols on the private beach but the beach was very nice nonetheless and we did see a bunch of fish and an octopus in the shallow water. If we were to book this tour again I would recommend going to see the monkeys and sloth first for $10 a person and then bringing $35 a person and going to Little French Key to swim with the lions and other animals (I heard that is awesome from other people on our cruise). I’m not sure what taxi prices are in the country but I think booking this tour would still be beneficial and affordable for traveling the island to ensure you get back on time and can keep going from place to place. Just don’t think you’re getting a bargain because with the spending money you need to get into the beaches and attractions it ends up being about equal to booking other excursions. Lastly, try the Iguana for $15 locally. The tour guide recommended I try it and it was the best meat I’ve ever had!

Shore Excursion: West Bay Sea Kayak and Reef Snorkel | mars 2020
Unfortunately the weather was not conducive to kayak as the water was too ruff and there was too much wind. Our tour guide from Roatan Anderson Tours, Mr. Jamie Lisandro Ruiz (pronounced Hi mee) advised us that we would not have a good time kayaking and took us around the island. It was a wonderful experience. He drove us to the Rum Factory, the shopping areas, through some residential areas for a cultural experience and we stopped at looking at the sloth's and monkeys. Lunch was provided and we had an authentically cooked red snapper fish. Jamie did a great job and I would highly recommend others to seek him out for his experiences.

The sloths were cool. The chocolate factory was a store that tried to sell you things Nothing was being made. The restaurant the driver picked w as shabby and very over priced. The iguanas were easy to see. The driver. Was polite and helped people in and out of car. Driver was not well informed about local population, etc.

Shore Excursion: Infinity Bay Beach Resort All-Inclusive Day Pass | mars 2020
We were picked up by jaime who will treat you like his own family. Juanito and Stefany were super nice, energetic and funny! When you get to the port will have to walk a little bit but not a lot to drain you. It's to avoid the port traffic and get you to the resort as soon as possible for you to enjoy as much time possible. Once there jaime will walk you through the areas that are accessible to you and where you will meet him at the end of the day. The good was delicious, the beverages were plenty and the pool wad refreshing. The ocean was beautiful in this area as well. I would definitely be coming here again and hire Anderson tours.

Roatan Excursion

Roatan Shore Excursion: Punta Gorda Garifuna History and Mangrove Tunnel | févr. 2020
In Roatan, our cruise informed us they required closed toe shoes. I recommend sneakers or closed comfy shoes; terrain can be rough in certain areas. Also, bring bug spray for mosquitoes. I would also recommend anyone going on this tour to print out or take a screenshot of the info page you get once tour is confirm. There it has the directions to find the location where the tour guide will pick you up. It’s located just outside the port over a hill that offers stairs. There are many different tour guides at this location so I would ask the coordinator the name of your tour guide and he will call him over. Then, you will take an hour drive to the first part of the tour: Mangrove boat ride. This was a very nice ride on the coast to the mangroves. You get to see the homes and boats of the locals. Afterwards, you take a 20 min drive to Punta Gorda. There you get to see and learn about the Garifuna culture and see a cultural dance. The tour guide then took us to Tomato Restaurant (just around the corner). My family and I took advantage of the low cost of alcohol there compared to the ship lol. I would recommend the Balenzar beer; it’s a Pilsner. They also had food and great prices. We return back to the port around 03:30 PM (boat time). Our cruise departed at 06:00PM (boat time). This tour guide guaranteed we would make it back on time. Tour time and boat time are different. Tip: Keep watch on boat time and then add Roatan time on your phone or vice versa.

Zipline Team - Huge Thumbs Up!!! :)

star-3Tracie_T
Shore Excursion: Zip & Dip Adventure | févr. 2020
First, let me say the team of guys we had at the Zip Line was AMAZING!!! Hands down best group of handlers I've ever had!!! They get 5+ Stars!!! Max, John, William and Giovani!!! - as well as all of the guys and crew that got us outfitted and kept us organized. The down side was that we felt 'controlled' by our driver, Dyana. It was clear she was on contract with one specific restaurant to bring us to one specific (VERY little) 'beach' area - not even a real beach, about 12 feet wide. We wanted to go to West Bay and see the beautiful beach, walk along shops and venture out into the water from the sand. That did NOT happen and we were being watched and monitored the entire time to ensure we STAYED PUT and did not go outside an extremely limited boundary. Not a pleasant experience. Dyana was accomodating in every other portion of the trip, but the entire last half of our experience, 'the beach' was a let down and just sad.

Shore Excursion: Zip Line with Monkey/Sloth Hang-out and Glass Bottom Boat | févr. 2020
We loved our excursion with Roatan Anderson Tours. They were right where they said they would be when we got off the cruise ship (Liberty of the Seas). They quickly introduced us to Ron, our guide for the day and we set off. The ziplines were a couple of blocks away so we walked there, faster than the line of traffic waiting on the roads. We loved the ziplines and the guys that took us across the course. My teens enjoyed it and my 11 year-old who was refusing to do it all month said it was the best thing he did our entire cruise, he as jumping off platforms, swinging upside down and backwards by the end of the course. My 8 year old was so nervous, but they let her do it with me, so we did the lines together, she loved it and was going without hands by the end. So much fun. After the ziplines Ron guided us to the animal part of the tour on the same property. We held a sloth, parakeets, had monkeys climb all over us and loved every minute. All the while Ron was waiting for us with the van and ac ready to go so when we were done he quickly drove us across the island to the glass bottom boat. They were holding the ship for us, and were able to make room for us to all fit comfortably. It was super rocky on the boat, if you get seasick easily don't do this! My kids loved the views though and we saw multiple turtles, a stingray, and fish galore, The reefs were amazing! I couldn't believe how big it was. Its a perfect way to see fish without swimming in the water. After the boat we met back up with Ron and he convinced us to check out the chocolate factory. It was so neat and we got some yummy chocolate to bring home. We also checked out a market for fun shopping. Next he took us to the Roatan sign to take pictures before we headed back to the boat. Ron was super nice. Answered all the questions we had and seemed very proud of his country. We were back to the boat with plenty of time to sit on our balcony and watchthe pier runners load up at the last minute. Such a great day and a beautiful island.

Shore Excursion: Roatan Monkey/Sloths Park Iguana and Butterfly Farm and Beach | févr. 2020
Jaime was our guide. Enjoyed our excursion so much! Jaime took us to sloths and monkey excursion. We decided to change things up and do a zip line instead of beach, no problem! He took us where we wanted to go. 12 of us! He was upbeat and informative if the island of Roatan. Stopped by side of road so son in law could buy lychi fruit from local vendor making sure we didn’t pay more than we should. Very kind to grand daughter with autism! She loved her surprise Jaime! Highly recommend him and this tour!
