Stefan was a wonderful tour guide and made the trip spectacular with his stories, music and enthusiasm for Skye.
The mini bus allowed us to go on curvy roads high in the mountains for amazing walks and views. The B and Bs were very comfortable and everyone slept well. The best way to visit the Highlands!
For my first time traveling alone in a foreign country, I chose to do a group tour of the Highlands. I wasn't sure which trip to chose while looking on Viator, but I was recommended to Rabbies by several friends. I learned Rabbie's has hostel, hotel, BnB, as well as choose your own accommodation options. I went with the single rooms in hotels/BnBs, which meant I had nothing to worry about except meals during my trip.
I loved the small group aspect! Our tour guide, Heather, learned all 15 of our names by the end of the day and made an effort to learn a little more about each of us so she could cater her narration and stops to our liking. The group also gets to know each other a little bit, which was nice traveling by myself for the first time. We had people from Japan, Korea, USA, Germany, and more!
There was never really a point where we were just driving for long periods of time. Every minute in the minibus which was very comfortable was learning, stopping, picture-taking, sightseeing, or relaxing. I couldn't have done as many options or seen as many things traveling by myself, even if I tried! Stops INCLUDED Forth Bridge, Glen Coe, Glen Finnian/Jacobite Express Harry Potter Train, Fort William, all over the Isle of Skye, Loch Ness, and more!
Heather was wonderful and offered to take pictures for all of us so we wouldn't only have selfies and pictures of the landscape. It was so nice to have her willing to help with that traveling solo.
You cannot possibly go wrong with this trip! Their accommodations are amazing for the price. HIghly recommend you use any of their trips, not just this 4 day one. Even the locals will tell you so!
Everything about this was wonderful! I personally don't like tours, but this was a trip with my mom and she felt much more comfortable doing the tour. We had a great time. All the places we stayed were wonderful and our tour guide through Rabbies was lovely to spend 4 days with. We some some incredible things. Of course I like to stop for every photo opp and this just isn't possible on a tour like this, but I felt good about the stops we did have. I also felt the value of the tour was exceptional. It was a very fair price for all the transport and accommodations. We loved it!
Excellent tour. Tour guide/driver was exceptional. Beautiful scenery and we learned so much of Scotland's history. Only issue we had was that other than my wife, myself and the tour guide/driver, every one else on the bus was Chinese and spoke very limited English. We would have preferred to be on a tour with other people that we could more easily communicate and interact with.
Our Rabbies tour exceeded all expectations. Our host, Audrey, was fantastic, sharing history and local stories with us throughout our journey. We were privileged to see areas in the Highlands and Isle of Skye that many tourists may miss and our 4 Day Highlands Tour provided memories that we will cherish. I recommend this tour to all ages!
This tour was amazing! Our tour guide, Stewart, was extremely professional and knowledgeable. In addition to the listed stops, he took the group to other places along the way such as Loch Ness. Stewart's passion for Scotland was apparent. We felt that we got a good snapshot of Highland culture along the way through his knowledge of the country and its history. He also incorporated a lot of local Scottish bands into his music on the bus which accentuated the tour. Of course, the scenery of the Highlands is absolutely incredible! Highly recommended tour to get out of the city and see what Scotland is really about.
Several components make for a more than one day tour: the subject matter, the pacing, the group of fellow travelers, the accommodations and the tour guide. My heavens! What beautiful country! Some might say that the occasional rain storm dampened the enjoyment, but, for me, the rain only made the countryside more dramatic and wild. There was good opportunity to listen, learn and wander in a variety of locations. We stopped often enough to make the driving time comfortable and to experience the society and the landscape, to get a sense of things. My fellow travelers were from Taiwan and China and I am from the East Bay in California. You’d think that traveling with 16 previously unknown people in one van would prove awkward and entrapping. But, we figured out how to be both private and interactive. We laughed a lot, told stories, asked questions about Scotland and rested when we needed to rest and be quiet. What good company I was in! I was a single traveler and the BnB rooms I stayed in were all clean, well furnished and comfortable. I especially enjoyed the BnB I stayed in on the Isle of Skye. Now, to the last component: the tour guide. Ours was a fellow named Barney. He told great little stories and gave informative lectures. He seemed to know when to talk and when to take time off. I especially enjoyed his sense of humor and his good driving. I couldn’t imagine doing this tour in three days - simply because the ratio of time to wander and explore to driving time would shift. I’m glad I had the extra day.
