Annecy is a very beautiful medieval French town right on the lake which marks the beginning of the French Alps. The overall beauty of the region resembles exactly the postcard picture. The short half day trip from Geneva is worth the money as you can imagine how was life in medieval ages.
Town is nice and lots of opportunities to take beautiful pictures. Our tour giude had very limited knowledge of the Geneva city. He was repeating same sentence over and over again, which was quite annoying. When i called the operator Key tours, lady ceary told me that bus stand which is next to Airport. I had to soend 33 dollars for taxi to come to city bus stand. I am extremely upset abiut it.
This is a great tour since it is only 4 hours which is all you really need. Annecy (pronounced ansie) is a beautiful small town with restaurants, shops, sweets, etc. The lake and mountains are truly picturesque. Tour guide is warm and friendly.
I use reviews all the time, but never go back and write my own--so today I am writing 5 good reviews and 5 bad reviews. This is 1 of my 5 BAD reviews. This tour was on a stuffy bus, and the tour guide spoke in three languages, which was fantastic that everyone could hear him, but while he was repeating the information in another language, we would go past things that he wouldn't explain. Unlike other tours, our tour guide was not very personable or friendly. I would have got more out of an uber driver to Annecy.
A lovely half day spent in this quaint little town ! If you travel on a Sunday as I did you will enjoy the farmers markets selling the local produce and witness the hustle and bustle of the locals. The old prison / castle are the highlights but the winding streets lined with little coffee shops and boutiques are a treat !
A tour not to be missed.
