One of the must see places in Hanoi. The tour guide Mr.KEN was giving timely informations and supportive in completing the trip successfully. It was a fun and amazing trip that covered Ha Long Bay, Amazing cave and TiTop island.
The bay itself is quite pretty however my trip was quite overcast so we couldn't see very far. My biggest problem was the ride out to Ha Long Bay from Hanoi. It is an 8 hour round trip and the bus was extremely small. I'm only 6' but my knees were in my face the whole way to and from. If you are planning on going, find out what kind of transportation first. Additionally, don't count on good food on the boat. Everything was cold and not that good.
Great day but spoilt by the rip off by the lady with the so called over priced not genuine pearls, jewelry etc. Be aware of the items for sale there both on and off the boats. Also warning be up to date with currency conversion from Dong and US as they tend to really over inflate the conversion. I was charged US35 for dong value of US25 and when I found out they refused to give back the diffenece
We loved the tour - when we got there- but we were uninformed and unprepared by the length of distance from Hanoi to Halong bay. It took 6 hours roundtrip when we thought that whole day was 8 hours long.
AC in tour bus was inadequate on a hot hot day.
