The tour guide, Eddie, is a Liverpool local and had incredible knowledge of the Beatles and their local history. I was amazed by Eddie's knowledge and the fascinating stories he had to tell about the Beatles. It was a lot of fun to visit their childhood homes, where they went to school, and learn of how they met and formed the group. I thoroughly enjoyed this tour and if you are a Beatles fan it should not be missed if in Liverpool.
We had a private tour because I wanted to introduce the Beatles to my granddaughters...we got to see the houses and hear the history of the Beatles as they grew up in Liverpool, we saw Strawberry Hill and Penny Lane and got to hear the story behind the creation of both songs. This is a perfect way to discover the Beatles!
The tour was both interesting and entertaining. The major problem was with understanding our guide. He was nice enough and knowledgeable but was difficult to understand because of his Irish version of English. I really don't know how to solve this problem but it did impact how much we enjoyed the tour.
No AC. Super hot in cab. Of the 3 seat belts along the seat, didn't work. We had to squeeze together using middle and driver side belts only. Driver made numerous rude comments about Pres. TRUMP, including that he was named after a fart.
An absolutely fabulous trip if you want to hear about the Beatles. Our guide / taxi driver Jimmy knew loads about the Liverpool music scene having been a musician himself. He had many interesting stories to tell once we tuned into the Scouse accent and he tuned into our Scottish accents. At one point, his taxi conked out but no problem for Jimmy who had a spare battery pack in the boot of his taxi and we were soon off on our travels again. Worth the cost. Much better than taking the larger bus tours as the taxi can access the narrower roads.
Clare did an outstanding job. I like the Beatles but my wife is a huge fan and Clare made it fun and interesting for both of us. She was informative, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic which really mad e the tour come alive. Very much recommend this tour!
