Disappointing day really. We had no interaction with the Amish at all. Not even a Buggy Ride.
Saw a video and a mock up of an Amish house and School. A ride in a bus through farmlands and that was it.
Expensive day out really. Would not recommend, this particular trip. Sorry.

It was promised a amish experience but it did not happen. We stayed most of the time in a facility where some non amish people explained the way of their living. We used a van in the afternoon to see some farms by the window... and one stop in a amish shop. The guide was not very good.

Tour guides were very knowledgeable. BBQ house at Amish Experience location was fantastic. Very enjoyable even with the rain. shuttle to/from hotel to Train station was the most difficult part. Identification stickers provided did not stick (upset shuttle driver on return). shuttle taking to train was better - she was helpful.

The attractions themselves were fascinating and well worth seeing. The difficulty we had was that the taxi that was meant to meet us at the train station and transport us to the attraction itself didn't arrive and we had to call for another one which didn't arrive until 30 minutes after we were meant to be picked up. The result was that the tight timing of seeing all of the aspects of the Amish Country Tour was upset and if it wasn't for the very good work of the staff at the Amish Experience Offices we would have missed out on the horse drawn buggy ride altogether. As it was that had to be truncated and so we didn't get a full appreciation of that aspect.
So the advice is: if the taxi sin't at the station when you arrive, call the taxi company immediately to get one there.

My tour was great, well organised and very informative. I would have liked an extra hour to have a buggy ride and talk more with an Amish local. The countryside is beautiful and people are genuinely friendly.

It was difficult to find all things , for example the Train, the bus , little information for the steps do.
The cinema demonration was somewhat outdated, would be kind to see me the real amish people.

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Although there was quite a bit of travelling, this all happened without a hitch. We were picked up from our hotel and taken to the train station. We had a bit of a wait before we boarded the train but were met at the station by a taxi that took us to the Amish area. Here we enjoyed the movie, Jacob's Choice and found it very interesting and informative. The tour through the Amish house was also interesting. Lunch was good, however the advertised Amish feast is no longer available. Amish food or Lancaster county food can be ordered from the menu, but there is no all you can eat lunch to sample Amish food as advertised on the brochure.
The shuttle bus took us driving along back roads around the area, pointing out Amish houses and farms. We saw quite a few Amish people along the way and called in to one home where crafts are sold.
The shuttle returned us to the train station in good time to catch the train back to Philadelphia where we were met by another shuttle driver who dropped us back to the hotel.
We really enjoyed the trip and had a great day!
