The basics
Located between the central business district (CBD) and Northbridge, the gallery—and the rest of the Perth Cultural Centre—is easy to visit during a day of sightseeing, whether you’re on your own or exploring the city on a guided tour. It’s a stop on most hop-on hop-off bus tours, providing a convenient way to get there from other local attractions.
Things to know before you go
*The Art Gallery of Western Australia is free to enter; donations are encouraged, and some special events and exhibits require a fee. *Non-flash photography is allowed; selfie sticks are discouraged. *Large backpacks and bags must be checked at the free coat room. *Wheelchairs and an electric buggy are available for use for those with disabilities.
How to get there
The gallery sits on Roe Street between Beaufort and William streets, just across Roe from the Perth city train station. It can also be reached via the Blue CAT, a free bus service in the city center.
