There were seven of us in the group when we attended a 4-hour cooking class with Vicki in Athens. We ALL LOVED this outing and enjoyed cooking with our instructor and the visit to one of the incredible Athens markets. Would highly recommend. One thing, we are all still waiting for the recipes that were promised during the class -- hopefully, you can get in contact with the instructor to send as we all gave her our email addresses. We loved what we cooked and would like to make again :-)
This was a BLAST!! We loved this class. Our chef Vasia took us to the fish, meat, cheese, and vegetable markets and taught us how to identify and select the best and freshest ingredients. We learned how to make tzatziki sauce, a quick freezer dessert, stuffed grape leaves, greek salads and stuffed meat/vegetable hand pies. The food was amazing and the class so fun. We made the Tzatziki sauce tonight and served it to family who loved it. We also learned why feta in Greece tastes so much better than the US and how to fix that. Highly recommend this class.
4 sisters, 3 others and the most delightful instructor. This class was set the tone for our all other tours in Athens and made it one of our best vacations ever. The thrill of preparing authentic Greek dishes in Greece. What a great introduction. The walk through the market was a good start. She didnt just show us how to prepare the foods but shared teachings on how to identify products from Greece and why she chooses specific ingredients. Who could ask for anything more? Then we sat as a group to eat and the conversation was lively and loud. A good way to meet new people. It was even FETA than we expected. So worth it! Now I want to look for this opportunity during all my other travels abroad.
Informative, fun and delicious food. Only issue was we never received the recipes via email as we were promised. Also, show up early or on time. Chef will not be happy if you are late because the whole group has to wait for everyone's arrival.
I had a wonderful time learning so much from Vasia! This is a must do while in Athens. Vasia also does an incredibly informative tour of the market. The cooking class was more than expected, Vasia taught me several techniques and authentic tips. I loved every second of the class! Vasia works to make a genuine connection with her students and helps them improve their skills so they can continue to cook these dishes. I can't wait to be back in Athens for another cooking class with Vasia!
Vasia is an absolute delight! What a fun and memorable experience this was. Definitely the highlight of my trip to Athens. The food was delicious and I am excited to bring these new recipes home to add to my menu.
Excellent morning cooking with Vasia! What a great way to spend part of your day. I highly recommend this tour. I was the only one in the morning class but we still had a great time. I went to the central market with her which was a great trip just in itself. I ended up going back to wander around the area for the rest of the day. The cooking class was really nice. It felt like I was in a kitchen cooking with a great friend. She shared a lot of tips about spices and olive oil and traditional greek dishes. We talked and cooked and had a great meal in the end. I didn't want to leave! The set up of the kitchen and classroom is very nice and spotless. It is well worth the money and a great experience for families, couples, singles, anyone! I will defiantly go back for another lesson when I am back in Athens.
