What a great excursion!! If you are lucky you will get Sirin as your guide. She was excellent in knowlledge of the sights on the program and did everything possible to insure our comfort snd safety. The river ride was a blast. The grand palace is beautiful as are the three temples —gold, reclining and emerald. The driver was great too. Some things to know, though, are it is a long way to the city from the port and the traffic is fierce. Our tour was originally for 8 hours but it turned to 11 hours but van is comfortable. We enjoyed it.
We were very fortunate to have TuTu for our guide. We were met at the cruise terminal with our name clearly displayed. Transported to a small comfortable air conditioned bus. Just my husband and I on the tour. TuTu made us feel very comfortable from the start explaining what our tour entailed. The Grand Palace certainly Grand and the golden Buddha is a must see. Our highlight was the long tail boat through the canals. Lunch own expense was very good and very reasonable. The tour was made easy with TuTu obtaining entrance tickets and using short cuts to get around the crowds. It was a very hot day but we were provided with cold water and cold face wipes. By using a small bus we were able to have close drop off and pick up. At my request we visited a silver shop at the end of our tour. Great tour, great guide and driver. Excellent day.
Great tour. Our tour guide and driver were there waiting for us when we got off the ship. Ms. Beer was very informative and nice. My friend had a fall and cut above her eye when her glasses hit her face. Ms. Beer got us into a taxi and took us to the emergency room where they put stiches on the cut. She acted quickly and took good care of us. We then continued our tour and enjoyed it very much. Ms. Beer was wonderful.
The private agent was relatively new as a tour guide. He was flexible enough to change the set itinerary to accommodate what we want to see. He recommended some local dishes for us to try and took us to a restaurant where we can order our own food. a Personal and friendly tour guide.
So happy with this tour. Walked off the ship and Dao was waiting with a sign - always happy when things start on key. We were the only two people in this comfortable van which meant we moved at our own pace and seemed to be able to enjoy everything in a relaxed way despite the crowds. Dao is a great guide and we felt we got an understanding of both Thai history and culture, along with her personal experiences of family life. The river boat ride was a blast and the temples and Grand Palace are experiences not to be missed. A great day
Our trip was excellent. Our tour guide Dahl and driver Ace were at the ship to pick us up when we docked. The trip into town was 2 1/2 hours, better than the 3 1/2 we had been quoted for the ship tours. Dahl was excellent at keeping the tour to our pace, finding elevators rather than many flights of stairs etc. Be prepared for large crowds We covered everything on the itinerary without rushing and Dahl's knowledge was great. The long tail boats were a highlight. I would highly recommend this tour.
This is a wonderful tour for those with only a single day in Bangkok. Yes, it's a long drive but if you get as good a guide as we had then it'll be more than worth it . You see all the main sites and have a decent amoutnt of time on the water to experience Bangkok from an alternative angle.
If there was one thing we'd change it would be one less Buddhist temple and maybe a visit to a market or something similar, although this isn't a serious criticism.
Bangkok City Tour was very good and our guide was okay with us changing and adding things we preferred to see. She was very efficient getting us around in a timely manner and trying to explain what was happening and what we were seeing she was obviously very knowledgeable. Her accent was at times hard to understand, I would next time ask for someone more proficient in English. We had a very delicious Thai lunch. Because of all the traffic we were nervous about reaching our ship on time but they did it with time to spare.
There is still so much to see in Bangkok it requires a return visit.
