Enfin, vous visiterez l'abbaye d'Ardenne où un monument poignant rappelle l'exécution des prisonniers canadiens peu après le Jour-J.
This was a wonderful and memorable tour. Our guide, Oliver was professional and knowledgeable. He picked us up from our ship and drove us to the different parts of Normandy and we all learned and understood geocentric a more detailed understanding of the impact of this historical time during WWII . We also did a stop in Bayeux for lunch and then saw the 68 meter long historical tapestry. A great day!
This was an excellent tour. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, explaining a lot of the history of the region as well as the story of the D-Day landing and the roll the Canadian forces played. We toured the Juno Beach Center as well as the Canadian cemetery. Very emotional at times.
i booked this for myself and family members instead of a cruise ship tour. We were very impressed with the guide and enjoyed the local colour he provided. He also recommended a great place for lunch. Had a fabulous day!
He gave us an excellent, insightful, emotional step by step journey of the Canadian troops from the DDay Juno landing beach through the various villages to the final goal for operation overlord. He took the time to help us find a plaque for a friend's father and later took us to a site of an old farmwhere the man likely saw battle. Not only did he present the tour very well, but you could tell that he has continually added to his knowledge about the Canadian DDay contribution.
Truly an amazing tour. Our guide was so knowledgeable about the role of Canadian troops in the D Day invasion of Europe and took us through a journey of the successes and hardships of the Canadian soldiers leading to the defeat, by allied troops, of the Nazi Regime.
Visiting Juno Beach, the Juno Centre, the memorials, various sites where Canadians advanced at great human cost and finally the Canadian Cemetery at Beny Sur Mer was a humbling and emotional experience that will never be forgotten.
Thank you to our wonderful guide Jean-François for this memorable day.
