Really good day, helpful driver who met us at the cruise terminal. Packed lots into the day. Started with a trip into town to see the steepest street in the world not much to see but had the opportunity to tick off the experience and could walk up if you wanted to, quick trip around the botanical gardens with good knowledge of plants. On to the castle where the views were amazing. Limited number of penguins seen but incredible to see them in their natural environment, hospital is doing a brilliant job and our guide was passionate about the work. Seals on the rocks were an unexpected bonus. Timings well organized to ensure we were back for the ship. . I would highly recommend.
This tour was exceptional! Russel our guide was a caring local. He allowed the time needed at every stop he took us to.We saw all we hoped for and more. Great value for the money.Easy to access for cruisers.
We arrived in Dunedin by cruise ship and the tour operators met us in the main hall just after disembarking. This was a comprehensive tour of the city area, countryside and the gorgeous penguins on a beautiful stretch of coast. Our guide was well versed in the history of the region and this tour was very impressive. Kathy
This had the potential of being a better tour but didn't quite live up to expectations. There were several stops so we got a taste of the area but I would have liked to spend more time at, for instance, the train station. A lovely vintage building with an art gallery on the time. Art and artifacts were available for sale by different artists but not enough time was allowed for anyone to make a purchase. I believe our guide, a very amiable man, allowed 10-15 minutes, 45-60 minutes would have been more appropriate perhaps with less time spent elsewhere. I felt rushed most of the day.
This was a fabulous tour. Russell was an excellent guide. First, we did the city highlights, then to Lanarch Castle - both of which were great. The highlight for me, though, was Otago Peninsula. I saw lots of wildlife - it was so clean and green. We went to Penguin Place and had a guided tour there I saw the little blue penguins and NZ fur seals surfing the waves. There was even a penguin hospital. Next, I saw the beautiful Albatross flying in their natural environment - how good is that. A great tour and a great guide - highly recommended.
Russ tour guide-Excellent!!! We actually were the only couple on the tour. Larnach Castle-beautiful grounds, Train Station such a gorgeous facility with unbelievable tile work. So much space covered, University, Stadium, Outlooks, Albatross Center, Penguin Place, coastal ride.
Unfortunately, Penguin Place can not see yellow eyed penguin close. Did see 2 penguins in recovery center. Naturalist super informed and so much knowledge.
