I'll start by saying our Driver was exceptional and very professional. However, once we arrived at the venue it was quickly clear that the value of the tour was far exceeded by the cost. The open-air boat in the advertisement was not used and instead individuals were piled into a covered boat with a very dirty front windshield that was difficult to see through. The airboat had poor quality acoustics that made it hard to hear the guide. There were numerous airboats out at the same time, which made it feel as though you were waiting in a commercial queue and took away from the natural beauty of the Everglades. Having previously traversed alligator alley and stopping to do the free visitor centre and small hikes, we had learned more on those FREE excursions and saw more wildlife including alligators, turtles, numerous birds than we did during this costly tour. The Alligator Show was well done, although very rushed and after paying 20 for our 3 children to have a picture taken with a baby alligator they were whisked out of the booth in less than 1 minute, when there was ample opportunity to provide them with an educational moment to examine the animal. I would NOT recommend this tour and show. Very disappointing.
EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! This is the second time we have wasted our money to see alligators in the wild. There is so much hype about how the everglades are overrun with these reptiles that we were expecting to see them around every bend. We loved our tour guide and he really tried, but disappointing on a grand scale. We have been to the swamps of Louisiana and had the same level of disappointment for even a higher price. I guess we will not invest in this type of tour again. It is really risky.
It was fun and my 12 year old son had a great time. The best part was the airboat ride and we were lucky and saw a few alligators. The alligator show was for my taste too adult oriented, lots of jokes kids might not get. The only thing I really was not happy with is the part after the show when you get a chance to look at some animals. There was only one animal to look at and it would have been great for the kids to look at some baby alligators. And if one has to pay 10 for a picture holding a little gator then give the kids at least a chance afterwards for a minute to look at the animal closer and maybe answer a few questions. That part felt so rushed and it felt it was just about making quick money. Don't forget these are for some kids and families once in a lifetime opportunities.
We had a free afternoon after a conference and before flying out, and this tour filled the gap very nicely. The pick up was on time and the driver was humorous and gave nice commentaries. The boat captain was the same, and he even made a pretty necklace out of a swamp plant for somebody on the boat who had a birthday.
We had a most wonderful experience. Our pilot, Markus or Maximus or something that my daughters call Capt. Handsome, was entertaining, enthusiastic and informative. The ride was longer than expected and we got to see so much. The demonstration and little animal park with the photo added just the right touch to make it one of the highlight of our vacation. We loved it.
My wife and I really enjoyed the tour. Al was great transporting us back and forth from our hotel. The video played during the ride was very informative about capturing alligators. The air boat was a great experience with a super guide. Since there is not a rudder, the boat slides to the side while turning. Different experience! Good to see all of the animals in the Everglades in the natural environment. The alligator show at the end was great also. I would recommend this tour and this tour company.
