Was very disappointed in overall experience. From beginning until end was not what I was expecting. Met tour guide at very unsavory subway stop and I was the only one of seven to book tour that found it on time. The guide was later than I expected and seemed more interested in answering his text messages than giving us a tour although he was very pleasant and very knowledgeable about the area. I thought I was going to eat but first two stops were at places not palatable so no real food until half way into tour. Then had very good Cantonese food but by then, after not eating all day I was famished and stArving so shoe leather would have been good. The explanation of tour needs more definition and should be defined as walking food tour as our small group had a woman that had an issue with movement and slowed the group down by almost an hour so instead of three it was? Who knowsI could not stick around for dessert. Not a good experience or bang for your buck at all!!!
A fabulous walking tour of many small establishments and street markets in Hong Kong. Our guide was accommodating and knowledgeable and constantly made efforts to suggest things and customize the tour along the way. Be aware, this is a walking tour only. The food is NOT included. This ends up being a good thing, as you can select the items you want as you go instead of being stuck with a set menu.
We booked this tour on our second evening in Hong Kong...our guide, Danny was just amazing, as a local his ability to answer every question put to him was just top notch!. The information passed on by Danny in relation to the local dishes and customs was used by us for the entire week that we were in HK. Of all the tours we have done in many countries, this was the one that set us up for our whole holiday eating street food for dinner and soup for dessert...thanks Danny, loved it, we will be back!!
This turned out to be a lovely evening. It was just four of us with the guide, Danny and it felt like a night out with friends. He showed us many varieties of street food. Some delicious and some interesting :. Really enjoyed walking around the streets of Kowloon at night with someone who knew the area very well. We also visited a BBQ restaurant and a dessert place which was filled with locals. I do recommend this tour.
Fantastic opportunity to discover food from stalls that you have previously walked past and not known what the food was or how to buy it. Great range of food explored from fruits, meats, deserts and drinks. Highly recommended
Our guide, Danny, was fantastic. Kowloon is a large area with so many choices it was nice to have someone lead the way. We stopped at several street vendors and had the option of being as adventurous as we liked I skipped the pig uterus!. Everything I tried was good, particularly the mango mochi! My new obsession. We also stopped at a couple sit-down restaurants, which were good, but I liked the street food better, with the exception of the Michelin-recommended desert at the end. . .fantastic!! Danny gave us a lot of great tips about other places to try, and what to look for when we do. Great tour all around.
This is the perfect food tour that shows you street food from a stall, a wholesale fruit market, a candy stall, BBQ places unless you're vegetarian then it's customised, the best dumpling house, and then the most popular place for dessert you get to skip the line.
Note, you must purchase all your food on the tour. It's all extremely cheap though, but it depends on what you purchase. So, if you end up going crazy at the food stall you may spend 10 or only 3 like I did.
