My husband and I really enjoyed this tour.Tommy our driver was very informative and stopped off at Hoover Dam on the way to the mine, so got some good photo's.The tour and history of the mine was fascinating. The tour guide was very funny and informative and made the whole experience a joy. The area around the mine has some interesting things to see. If you ever watch American pickers and like to see what people collect you will enjoy this.
It is beyond belief when you see the mine. How hard miners had to work. The mine has electricity for our convenience but to realize how little light they had to work in....amazing. It was really interesting listening to the guide about the history of Techatticup. And they have wonderful old photos and fun stuff inside and outside the old house. And, where else can you buy gold shavings for an unusual gift. I was raised in Las Vegas, but live in Maryland now. Coming home and revisiting Eldorado Canyon and Tehatticup....and seeing our wonderful bighorn sheep....it was a great tour. Hats off too miners and thanks for the history lesson.
a wonderful place to visit, and you actually go into the mines itself, its a private owned mine and the house around the place is a most to see inside and out. they have antics of cars and trucks scattered around the place too, great photography to be had :
James did a great job showing us Eldorado Canyon. It is a real hidden gem. He really knows the area and helped divert us to avoid traffic which was greatly appreciated. The Techatticup Mine was eye opening and the guide had extensive knowledge of the mine and how miners worked in the mines. It really dispelled a lot of myths. The only thing that I would change is if the mine tour went more into the mine. The mine was much larger than what we were shown, but we did not get to see more. It was still good though.
