I have never been in such a luxurious vehicle in my life. The top opens so it is an open air bus when visiting sightseeing locations and closes to a very roomy van when on the highways and byways. Very informative and insightful look into history and life of New Orleans. Lots of fun.
Our tour guide was pleasant and very knowledgeable about ALL the history of New Orleans including facts I will never remember nor actually care to. There were three stops where we disembarked the bus. The tour did not allow for enough time in the French Quarter
as there was only a brief stop stop in Jackson Square. The cemetery stop was fairly interesting in learning about the way they use above ground burial vaults. There was however, a more than adequate stop at the City Park for a bathroom break. I only had one day in New Orleans and I was hoping to see more and I personally would have liked to have been informed of the fact that there were tours available at the Degas House it was just pointed out on the way since I am an artist. The tour was completed in plenty of time to allow me to travel back there and take the tour had I known about it. Many of the details the tour guide discussed could have been provided in a handout or by sharing some of the literature that is readily available from the welcome centers. A map of the actual tour would have been nice as well. Certainly any tour of New Orleans should include Bourbon Street and a discussion about the musical background of the city which was lacking, The tour bus itself was comfortable and the skyvue did give you some sense of being outdoors without having to endure the discomfort of a very hot day. For those just wanting a quick trip and overview of New Orleans I guess this would be an acceptable tour. Constance Fisher, 08/05/2017.
The skyvue vehicle is a great way to view everything during the tour. Even with the air conditioning running, it was still warm in the vehicle, because the sun beats on the glass roof. The cemetery portion of the tour could have been shortened and allow more time for the Katrina portion. The tour guide, graham , provided a great view into the history of New Orleans. If history is not your thing, you may not enjoy this tour.
