Whether you are a first time visitor or have grown up around the area taking this tour with George will increase your knowledge and appreciation for the (as George would say) "coolness" of the city of Pittsburgh. He loves the city and knows so much! All of this is passed on in such a fun and congenial way that we could not help but love the city too! This two hour (2 1/2 hr. really) was centered around not only the high points of the area but our interests as well. He pointed out places that we returned to after the tour ended including the restaurant Gaucho (terrific) and the best Polish deli (S and D) in Pittsburgh both on The Strip. He also went above and beyond when he returned to our hotel a container of cotton candy (purchased for my grandson from Grandpa Joe's Candy Store, also on The Strip) which I left in his vehicle. Our long college football weekend was absolutely enhanced by our experience with George DeBolt and his tour. If I could give 6 stars I would. In short, follow the title and don't miss it!
Passionate, informative, entertaining and personalized tour - yes, personalized! Besides learning a lot about Pittsburgh's history and visiting the must-see sites such as Heinz Field and Duquesne Incline, George also added exclusive bits to the tour based on details I shared regarding my interests and heritage: that is, I got to visit a family business offering a traditional Polish dish and spoke German with first-generation Americans of Polish and German descent. If you are in Pittsburgh, you got meet George and let him introduce you his city!
George was the man! True passion for Pittsburgh but had the knowledge to go along with it making this a great learning experience about the past and present of Pittsburgh. George accommodated us on short notice on St. Patrick's Day. He was even courteous to this Pats fan. The two hour tour was just right to get an excellent overview of the city. The Duquesne Incline was a great experience and view. Really enjoyed the drive through the Cultural and Strip district pointing out unique history and construction along the way. We wrapped it up with having George drop us off in the Strip District at Gaucho's for an outstanding meal. We got the Asado Platter which had a sampling of wood fired flank, skirt, sirloin, NY strip and Rib Eye. I highly recommend George. A truly great experience. We plan on bringing our daughters back to do it again.
George was an excellent tour guide. He picked us up at the airport and our tour started right away. He was extremely knowledgeable about Pittsburgh and the history of it. The duchesse incline was awesome and the view. I would highly recommend booking a tour with George, you wont regret it.
