This was the best tour we did while in playa del carmen. Our tour guide was so informative and very funny. The buggy tour through town and the jungle was a blast. The Cenote was incredibly beautiful and amazing and a once in a lifetime experience. The highlight of the tour was stopping at a mayan village to purchase food and give to the villagers. It was such a humbling experience and one my husband and I will never forget. Book this tour......you won't be disappointed.
This was the best tour ever!! Our tour guide was totally awesome. He was funny and very informative. The buggy tour was sooo much fun and even the cenote swim was a blast even though it put me way outside my comfort zone. I am claustrophobic but was able to do it just fine. The highlight of the tour was stopping at a mayan village and buying food bags to hand out to the locals. It was such a humbling experience and one my husband and I will never forget. Book this tour.....you won't be disappointed!!
A great tour! The caves were amazing and so beautiful! Having an opportunity for my children to see a small town and help by bringing food to them was a real eye opener for them. My only complaint is that the buggy's were very loud and providing ear plugs would have helped. Overall, I would definitely tell anyone to take this tour!
My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time on the tour! It was a bit of a rainy day so blasting down the jungle roads through massive puddles was a lot of fun though definitely don't wear nice clothes. The cenote experience was a surprise- we were in a small group so able to explore much of the cave that if you've eaten too much at the resort may be hard pressed to successfully squeeze through parts of.
The Mayan village visit was a step back to reality of how lucky us tourists have it and we were glad we were able to go and help out in a small way. There is food available for purchase at the village store though we also brought some candy along for sharing.
This is an amazing experience, could not fault anything during the day. So many different emotions, during the 3 parts of the day. The guys who go with you on the buggies are a credit to the country of mexico.
We started of with the hotel pick up and a short trip to playa del Carmen. After signing a safety document we were quickly off onto the streets of playa del Carmen and into the jungle. The buggies were great fun, great turn of speed, it was like I was a big kid again. When we got off the open road we were told to put on out bandanas and goggles, as it was gonna get dusty.
After about 15/20 minutes we ended up at a cenote in the middle of the jungle. We were split into groups and given a helmet, touch and water shoesand headed down to the cenote. The tour guys we were paired with were informative and really really funny. The scenery down there was amazing. Bats, little catfish, refreshing water, this cenote had everything. I would say its not for the more larger person as there is a few tight spaces, but as the tour guide says don't worry we have Vaseline!!!. After a little swim in the cenote, and time to do what you want , it was back up to the surface and a chance to have a few snacks and water before you go onward with your journey.
After a short bumpy road journey, you come to the small village on the outskirts of playa del Carmen. This truly makes your heart break. Showing a different side to the 5 hotels we are all used to here in mexico. The tin shacks, the small homes that sleep so many people. For 100 Mexican pesos you can purchase a bag of different food to hand out to the people and children. This was really a touching moment of the tour, but rewarding too. We took, a few bags of toffees which the children loved more than the fruit.
The tour guides were telling us that they had given the village money for a couple of water wells. They go to a different area every day so that different parts of the village have their chance to receive their bit of food.
The tour guides are amazing, in so many ways and is was touching to see them give something back to the community which everyone else seems to forget about. They are funny, informative, but have a big heart too. Special mention goes to Partick and Charlie.
You will not forget this tour for so many reasons. Your emotions are as up and down,as like the journey on the buggy to the cenote. Not only will you enjoy it, but you are giving something back.
This was one of the highlights of our holidays. My husband really enjoyed the buggy driving through the jungle. Then we went for a tour in the amazing underground river, and as the only people there it felt very special and was truly amazing. Finish the tour meeting local people and giving them food
What an experience! Fun ATVs, an amazing swim in an underground cenote and an unforgettable experience handing out much needed and appreciated food items to the women and children of a poor neighborhood. From staying at a luxury resort with its excessive and mind-boggling buffets to an excursion which included kids asking for la leche milk, it makes one grateful for what we are blessed with every day when so many have so little. Kudos to this tour company for making this humanitarian effort part of their excursion. My family will never forget it.
