Excellent tour all round. We were picked up in a coach and transported for 5 minutes to a more central meeting point, where we got on the mini bus for the tour Jacek Our guide was enthusiastic, engaging and full of life. I am guessing he has lead this tour many, many times before and yet he approached it as if it was all fresh information he was imparting for the 1st time, with his passion for the Polish dancers and their way of life really shining through. Zakopane is lovely, and the trip up the mountain to gaze upon the Tatra mountains was wonderful. There was snow on the rooftops and plenty of places to eat both at the top of the mountain and in Zakopane itself. Once you are up the mountains you are given free time to either stay up there, or descend and explore Zakopane. There is even a free Museum visit thrown in for those who fancy it.
I loved visiting Zakopane! I’m glad we chose to do this tour, I even got to ride a horse and hold a baby lamb!! We did not get to see the mountains though as it was too cloudy. This tour only runs on Wed and Sat so be aware of that when making plans. Also note that the tour guide will take you up the mountain and immediately bring you back down. DO NOT FOLLOW HIM DOWN. There is much more to do up above than there is down below!! S/he won’t let you see all the different booths and shops on the top. We read other reviews and were prepared ahead of time to say no to going back down. We only went back close to the end when it was time for the tour to be over and that was plenty of time to see what was at the bottom.
Price was very reasonable and so worth it. Hassle free tour and our guide was very knowledgeable. The tour was amazing we saw lots of scenery and we were allowed ample time to explore by ourselves. Highly recommended!
Had a good day considering the weather was not too good, rained quite heavily some of the day, View of mountains was not too good because of the weather. I did clear up for a while when we were in zakopane we sat outside and had lunch which was really nice Best crumble ever with cream. Small pretty place. I am sure it wouldve been better had the weather been good. There was only 3 of us travelling on trip so were in a car. The driver was good he did take us around and was very helpful. As always it was well organised by Viator
Absolutely brilliant tour, all thanks to our guide, Jacek and driver, Marek. Nothing too much trouble. So much information and history etc from the guide. Very highly recommended thank you so much for a fabulous day
I was expecting a coach trip, but it was just me and the tour guide! This made it a more personal tour, whereby I learned a lot more about Zakopane. The guide was very knowledgable and I had a great day out.
Andre, our guide, was lovely and very knowledgeable. The weather was glorious, so the views at the top of the funicular were breathtaking. I wish I had done what others in the group did, and stayed up there rather than following 'the tour' and going back down. Although then I wouldn't have seen the graveyard, which was very interesting. Zakopane itself is very pretty, but the crowds were horrendous, and completey ruined it for me. We were left to our own devices for about 3 hours, but there wasn't really that much to do other than wander up and down the main street with everyone else. I would much rather have either stayed at the top for longer although it was crowded there too, and spent less time in the town. Having said all that, its definitely worth going, just for the views.
