This tour gave us the opportunity to see some of the beautiful Prince Edward Island landscape. The Green Gables property is not much to get excited about unless you are an avid fan. Our main complaint is that we started the tour about 20 minutes late waiting for a fellow sightseer to arrive and then sat at the Green Gables property for 30 minutes waiting for someone who did not come back to the bus on time. This made not only us, but others on the tour, feel like we didn't get to see as much as promised.
Really liked PEI as cruise ship port! Charlottetown is charming. We had a morning to explore the town then took tour into country. This tour took us to Rustico, the National Park and to the site of Anne of Green Gables House. We stopped at a garden and preserve maker on way back. The guide Pierre was knowledgeable and the tour allowed us to see the countryside as well as city. We want to return to PEI!
If you wish a light short tour for a half day, this one is ok for you. Yet if you wish to take more time and enjoy the nature or the staying at Green Gables including the trails, this is not recommended. Half of the time was on the bus with 52 people and a very nice but talkative tour guide sitting at the front mumbling all the history of the Island. I guessed I just expected too much so I was very disappointed about this tour. I feel wasting my time here. But those old gentlemen and ladies in the bus seemed enjoy a lot.
This was a wonderful tour. We enjoyed seeing not only the Anne of Green Gables home but many other things along the way. I only wished we would have had more time at each stop. It was great and our guide was very nice and knowledgeable.
We really enjoyed our Green Gables tour. Our guide was knowledgeable and engaging. We had ample time to visit our stops and enjoy the flavor and history of the area. Anyone familiar with the Anne of Green Gables series would appreciate the beauty and understand even more the author, Lucy Maud Montgomery's, love of this beautiful area in which she grew up.
The guide was ok. The bus was not a coach which I had expected, instead, it was a small shuttle bus, so go to the bathroom before the ride. My friend thought the guide was going to give us a tour of the Green Gables premises as well, but it was just on our own for a little over an hour. Good way to see the island if you don't have a car.
Our trip to Green Gables was excellent! Our tour guide was the best and informed us about all kinds of things about PEI. We all had a great time with Pierre as our tour guide. We learned about lobster fishing, how mussels are raised, where the best lobster meal was, and a whole lot more. The Green Gables setting was lovely and the house close to what I thought was in Lucy Maud Montgomery's book. A great gift shop too. While we were waiting for everyone to board our bus, Pierre played the accordian and I got to dance a jig to it. What fun!
