Guide was great. shared a lot of interesting facts about Iceland. Unfortunately we did not see any lights there was too much cloud cover, but they tried real hard to get us to a place where it was clear enough to see them.
This tour was a bit of a disappointment. It would appear that the tour only goes to one location which is pretty close to the city so the northern lights were not really bright although we did see them which was good. The tour operator was very good but the viewing was a bit disappointing.
We saw the most amazing northern lights on this tour! The green lights were undulating across the sky. Sometimes we saw a little pink on the edge of the green. The bus was comfortable. The fellow passengers were fun and courteous. The guide sang to us while we searched for the lights. It was a magical night.
We were lucky to see the Northern Lights albeit not as vivid as the pictures you tend to see. The tour guide was friendly and entertaining. It was a really nice bonus to get Hot Chocolate and Icelandic style doughnuts on this incredibly cold and windy night. Wrap up warm, no one will ever prepare you for the cold during the winter months.
my tour to the northern lights was rather interesting. we stayed in keflavik and i booked that tour after i booked i was told that there was no shuttle service to pick us up . viator does not seem to know bus schedules the northern light tour started at 9 pm but there was no bus going to keflavik upon our return so we had to sit in the bus depot for 3 1/2 hours. the last bus leaving was 8 pm. the circle tour was ok except the weather was terrible. and one other thing the buses toilet are always locked so you can spend 200 isk to fill there pocket. and once again i had to spend money on a bus ticket. needless to say i am not please and i would actually like the money i had to spend extra back. that was not in the budget and i should have been made aware of the set up before i booked. i am out 17400 ISK which should be in my pocket. i would have never booked with viator that Is Totally Disgusting CUSTOMER service. never again and the stupid rude answer i got was why don't you get a taxi. apperantely nobody knows how much a taxi is except it is astronomical. i enjoyed some of the island viator and wow are not on my priority list. two company that like to gauge people.
We were very lucky to have a fantastic night viewing the northern lights.
However, the places we stopped still had lots of light pollution. Big flood lights in the field etc. This really impacts the view by the naked eye - a lot of people were very disappointed. Please find other spots with not spotlights etc ....
I had my camera and researched how to take great photos - so I absolutely loved it . The tour could give these tips as part of the booking process so lots of people could get a lot more from the trip. A starter for ten - tripod, 5 seconds, as wide as you can go eg f2.8 and adjust iOS 1600 starter. Focus on infinity manual focus required
Was ok. I feel the tour should have been cancelled as it was obvious with the cloud cover that we would not see the lights. However the tour guide was friendly and we stopped at one point for hot chocolate with Bailey's and were give the chance to try the fermented shark this was at no extra cost.
