The boat only takes 6 people at a time. Great, small group trip. You get drinks/snacks/cold gear if needed. Captain Shawn was wonderful. Very relaxing cruise. we were in early March and only saw one whale, but it is the end of the season. The entire trip was well worth the time, just to relax and see the sights along the way
Had a beautiful afternoon out on the water watching an amazing array of wildlife. We got to see many whales along with two types of porpoises and sea lions. There were also a number of types of birds including great blue herons and cormorants. Captain Sean ran a tight ship with safety first and made the afternoon a memorable one. We had a wonderful time and would go again on our next visit.
Thanks Sean for making our day so much fun.
I thoroughly enjoyed my outing with Capt. Greg and 5 other passengers. The sea turned choppy and the fog enveloped us once we got further away from shore, but the boat was equipped with jackets in various sizes as well as blankets, so we could stay on deck if we wished to. Greg asked whether he could prolong the cruise for another half hour as the weather cleared late, and he really wanted to show us a couple of whales. We eventually spotted spouts and saw the back of a young whale. Greg offered all kinds of information about whales, boats and the military presence in San Diego. I will gladly do this again with the same company on future trips to San Diego.
We had a great time, despite the fact that we saw no whales or dolphins. Our main desire was to take a trip to see whales and dolphins as advertised but we didn't realize until we actually boarded the boat that the watching season was past and we most likely wouldn't see any. We wish the advertisement was more up front with that. If advertised as a sailboat ride, we still would have gone.
The trip was very nice though and Happy Captain Greg was a great and fun guide. The accommodations were great and just a nice experience overall. The scenery was beautiful and Captain Greg was very knowledgeable on the sights and the area. We would recommend this to anyone.
The whale trip was pretty exciting, my lady and i had fun, she didnt even whant to go home any more. Besides that on the other side theres a military base and its only 5$ for a car load of people, that was pretty cool as well. Overall though, it was worth it.
