Wonderful

The views were spectacular. Next time will go for 2 days. Excellent driver/guide. Small group. We had to wait 20 minutes to cross the border/runway, as 2 planes landed.

Excellent Tour

Our tour guide, Ramon, did an outstanding job explain the history on the bus trip from Seville to Gibraltar, which was very educational. The tour itself was well planned and ran smoothly, including a nice rest stop on the way down to Gibraltar. The company also picked me up at my hotel at no extra cost as I stayed at one of their non-traditional pick-up and drop-off spots.

Dramatic location filled with history

Dramatic location . The Rock just stands there in middle of nowhere .From all over Gibraltar you can see the wild, windy coast of Spain and across the strait the stunning coast of Morocco. Lots of history and interesting things to see. The people living here are more British than the British. Fun shopping and good places to eat. Enjoyed Michael's Cave and the monkeys.

This was one of my favorite tours...

This was one of my favorite tours. We had a small group, five females and two amazing tour guides throughout the day. We started on the drive to Gibraltar with a stop for breakfast and toilets on the way. Our driver recommended what we eat for breakfast. Once we got to the border, we switched to a local tour guide. Both guides were incredibly knowledge, funny, and wonderful to talk to. There is a few hours free time in Gibraltar after the local tour. We used our time to go to the beach and step foot into the ocean.

I must admit reading some of the reviews on this excursion had me thinking twice about spending 150/ea. for this. I'm happy we decided to go. The trip down was only 2.5 hours, not 3, and we made it back in 2. Our tour guide with Naturanda Tours we actually booked through Viator was Federico and he was amazing! Totally engaging and sharing great information along the way. Don't forget to bring your passports as Gibraltar is a British Territory. Be prepared to switch tour guides when you get there, as you hop on a bus with others and pick up a few others at local hotels before you actually start the tour...Federico stayed with us the whole time. Highlights were the monkeys, the amazing views of the straight and Africa and St. Micheals cave. The scenic countryside was amazing to see as well with all the bulls and olive orchards.

Having experienced the Gibraltar Day...
Heather E
, oct. 2017
Having experienced the Gibraltar Day Tour from Seville I have to say although we weren't disappointed with Gibraltar itself the tour was very poorly run. 1 The van was ok but small without much room. 2The guide was very nice but didn't seem to be experienced or have much knowledge. 3 Also there were no offers of stop for a toilet break and it took 3 hrs from the time we left till we got there-in any other tours there always has been at least one toilet stop 4It seemed very rushed and not relaxed in any way and thank goodness we asked what time we would have lunch as after 2pm was a long time from breakfast at 7am as there was no information given by the guide until we asked. 5 also the driver we had on the island, although knowledgeable was a elderly pompous very rude man who wouldn't use his air conditioning when requested even though we were sweltering in the back of his van. 6 he was also very obnoxious to our lady guide whenever she asked any questios So we did like seeing Girbraltar but no thanks to the above tour

Our guide picked us up right outside...
Karen
, août 2017
Our guide picked us up right outside our hotel which was a great way to start the day. We went to Gibraltar, where our guide introduced us to a local guide. This gentleman took us on a tour of the city and up the rock. We went to the cave, the tunnels, and were entertained by the local monkeys! Although this was a lot of fun, I wish it had lasted a little longer. I could easily have spent another 30-45 minutes there. We were then driven back to town and were met by our original guide again who was very friendly and prompt throughout the entire day. We then had four hours of free time to explore, shop and have lunch. This brings me to my only real criticism of this tour. The town itself is not huge. We would have been happy with two, maybe three hours there. This was the general consensus of our group of seven. As it was my travel companion and I walked the town twice then had a two and a half hour lunch. I would have given this tour a five star if we had more time on the rock and less in town. Overall, a good experience.

This tour had some good highlights...
Norma G

This tour had some good highlights but some less than satisfactory aspects. The drive to Gibraltar could have been improved with better and far clearer explanations of the scenery and areas we passed through. Instead, all participants found our guide pleasant but his English was so heavily accented as to be incomprehensible, which was very unfortunate. Once we reached Gibraltar, we were transferred to a local minivan and driver to be taken to the top of the rock. His explanations were extremely good and useful, and the sight of the apes with new born babies at close quarters was great. Once we were returned from the summit we were left to wander the massive shopping precinct for lunch and shopping for several hours. The choice of food was dominated everywhere by British style fish and chips, which sounded good as Gibraltar is surrounded by both the Atlantic and Mediterranean waters, so we expected some great fresh fish. No, we were told, the cod comes from Iceland and is frozen! Go figure! So we opted out and had a coffee elsewhere. Unless you like shopping at for supposedly duty free prices at UK branded stores, this was almost the most unappealing part of the trip. The worst was experienced as our minivan was caught in a total traffic gridlock for 45 minutes as it crawled a distance of less than 500 metres trying to get off Gibraltar. Apparently, this happens every single day, as day trippers leave, and is even worse on weekends. It is worsened by slow and inefficient and ineffective passport control staff. If shopping at UK stores at so called tax free prices appeals then this might make up for the rest - although prices seemed far too high. The chance to see Gibraltar made the trip worthwhile but its organisation needs improvement.

We took this tour on July 3, 2017...

We took this tour on July 3, 2017. Our tour guide Lucas was wonderful! He shared great information and really helped us understand the people of southern Spain. Our group was our family of 3 and one other couple. It was so nice to have someone else driving and to hear all of the information. When we entered Gibraltar we picked up an additional tour guide who drove us around and showed us the sights. The views from the rock were great. Very interesting to learn the history. The monkeys were very cute and not bothersome unless people were not smart about it. We also liked the free time at the end of the visit to explore and get lunch.

We booked our tour through...
Sharon F

We booked our tour through tripadvisor.com. We were picked up with a car right at the door of our Airbnb apartment at 8:30 AM by Ahenio, who was an excellent driver. Ahenio is not fluent in English but could do quite well and you could tell he is trying to learn. He drove us to Gibraltar where we were met by Clive who was driving a minivan. There was only the three of us in our party and two people from the Netherlands joined us there. Clive drove the 5 of us around Gibraltar telling us the history of many points of interest before taking us up The Rock. Winding our way up the one-way road was a very interesting experience as you look out and down on the town of Gibraltar. The view is absolutely fantastic. We got to stop and go through a cave of stalagmites which is beautiful but has been ruined by turning it into a dance hall.We also stopped to go look at a tunnel. The high-light seemed to be the macaques Monkeys which lounge all over the area and pose for photos. There are many beautiful photo-ops along the way. Clive always made us feel safe even though the road was very winding , narrow and steep. The only down side of this trip was that we were so rushed, only getting 10-15 minutes at each stop, as there were so many buses coming behind us with more tourists so everybody has to keep moving or a traffic jam is created. If you go on your own, there is a cable car that takes you to the top or if you are in good shape I believe you can also hike it. That way you could take your time and stay as long as you want. After we went back down to the town, we were dropped off to do whatever we wanted until walking back across the border to meet up with Ahenio who drove us back to Sevilla which takes about 2-2.5 hours.
