As travel returns, we want to help you feel confident and prepared to venture out. Travelers can now search for experiences with increased health and safety measures on Viator, and review specific steps operators are taking to help keep you safe.


As countries reopen borders and travel restrictions ease, guidance may change frequently. We encourage you to check with the World Health Organization (WHO), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), or with local government authorities for more information about the impact to your destination. How do I know what safety measures to expect on an experience? 

On experience pages, you'll see a new section, 'Keeping you safe during COVID-19', where operators have listed experience-specific health and safety measures. This will appear as either a checklist of measures they’re taking, an informational note, or both. This information comes directly from operators, so you’ll know the information is coming straight from the source.


How do I find experiences with increased health and safety measures? 

As you browse Viator, select the “Taking Safety Measures” filter on the left-hand side of the page to see only products with increased health and safety measures. You can also look for the hand-washing icon on products to easily identify which ones have additional health and safety measures in place.


What if an experience doesn’t have increased health and safety measures listed?

Operators may have additional health and safety measures in place that are not indicated on their experience pages. If you would like to find out more about increased health and safety measures for a particular experience, please contact us by using the "Still Need Help" section below.


If I have a safety request that’s not listed, how can I check if the supplier is able to accommodate?

Is Viator confirming that any health and safety measures listed are implemented?

Viator requires that all operators comply with local laws and regulations that are applicable to their experience, and operators are encouraged to keep the safety information on their experience pages up to date. Safety measures are provided by the tour operator and are not checked by Viator for accuracy. If you find that the operator has not followed through with the experience as promised, you can contact us by using the "Still Need Help" section below. 


What if I arrive at my experience and the health and safety measures listed aren’t implemented? 

Your health and safety is our top priority, and we understand there is a lot of uncertainty at this time. Viator requires that all operators comply with local laws and regulations that are applicable to their experience, and operators are encouraged to keep the safety measures on their experience pages up to date.
