This tour was great!! George picked us up and told us about the island and the business. We learned things about olive oil we didn't know. We were using, storing, etc. it all wrong!. Great learning experience and fun. The operation was really neat and loved the 1400 year old olive tree.

This is a must-do activity for anyone spending time in Corfu! We weren't sure whether The Governor could accommodate us on Palm Sunday, but George (one of the co-owners of this family business) reached out prior to the tour to confirm the plan and to discuss arrangements for pick-up; we met our driver, Marcos, at the meeting spot in the morning without issue and enjoyed a picturesque ride to the olive mill in a private van. We were treated to a cup of Greek coffee (much appreciated given the rain and cold weather) and then enjoyed a guided tour of the museum and narrated history of olive oil on Corfu and The Governor's evolution from a small family business to groundbreaking company. The tasting was the highlight of the tour, as it gave us an opportunity to become EVOO sommeliers and enjoy some The Governor's best creations. Before we left, Marcos drove us to the olive groves to see some of the oldest trees in Corfu where the harvest takes place. Thanks so much to the very musical George and the whole Governor Team for this experience. Highly recommend!

Wow! Recommended this tour! We booked this tour on our Honeymoon trip to Corfu! Our super lovely guide George picked us up on time and as we drove to the olive mill he gave us lots of insightful information about Corfu. When we got to the Mill we had a great guided tour in a small group explaining all about the process of making olive oil (no spoilers!) Which was really interesting. You can clearly see George and his family are truly passionate about what they do! Our group then got to watch a short video and took part in olive oil tasting which was fabulous, learning how to smell for different scents like fresh cut grass in olive oil was a favourite of ours! The tour finished with a stop to the onsite gift shop and a wonderous trip to see the olive trees! Thank you so much George! We will always remember this trip fondly!

It was a really great time. George, one of the brothers who runs it was literally a one man band the day of our tour, he was doing all of the admin work, he did the hotel pick ups, gave us an amazing tour and then also dropped us home. His passion, knowledge, love and pride for his business really shines through and he is an extremely warm and fun person to be around. The olive oil tasting was delicious and we learnt lots about what goes in to the production of the “liquid gold”! I would throughly recommend.

We had a great time at The Governor Mill! Georgio was an incredibly friendly (and funny) guide with plenty of knowledge to share. The tour was as entertaining as enriching, there were plenty of (covid) safety measures in place and the tour group was only 11 people which made it very comfortable. Most definitely recommend visiting this family owned mill and learn more about all the amazing properties this simple but noble product has to offer.

We had a wonderful time with George, our guide, during this educational trip to the Governor Olive Mill. George is passionate about the history and process of the production of oil in this family-owned mill. The tastings accompanied by feta cheese, tomatoes, and local wine was perfect. An experience we will not forget! Highly recommended.

It was olive harvest and the family was busy in the groves. We asked to go to the groves and see. We did and actually got to experience using some of the harvesting equipment. After seeing the harvesting we went to the mill to see the next steps. Very educational tasting concluded the tour. Georges is very personable and his mother is so sweet. She makes some other olive oil based products and we were able to buy one or two. She makes very small batches. When Georges got serious about explaining research and health benefits—that was our favorite part. There was a 11 or 12 year old girl with 6 adults and I think she had a good time too.

George was a hoot! Once he got onto his area of passion, he was amazing. We learned so much & it was super fun. I'd say it's "recommended reading" for anyone using olive oil for any reason. The countryside was also beautiful.

10 out of 10! To start, George was really easy to communicate with via WhatsApp and came straight to the meeting point. Although it's a good 30-40 minutes to the olive mill, we were entertained the entire time. George's english is excellent and he's got a fun sarcastic side to him. First we went to this old fortress and then we took us to the oldest olive tree on the island (~1300 years old). Then we arrived at the mill. It was so interesting learning about a product I use every day but apparently knew nothing about. The olive oil was fantastic and we got to taste it with bread, cheese and tomatoes. Plus we got to drink George's uncles homemade wine. Which was fabulous. We bought a bottle along with a bottle of the olive oil. In retrospect, we should've bought a few more bottles and given them as gifts. In the end, George's Dad took my wife and I back to the port with plenty of time to grab a couple souvenirs and make it back on the ship. I spoke to a few other people on our ship about their experience in Corfu and everyone was so jealous of our excursion. Plus this was 50% less expensive than all of the cruise excursions! If you love learning, history, tasty food, tasty wine, amazing olive oil and supporting a beautiful family and their business, then definitely book this.
